Surprised there's been no post on this yet. Heard on TheFan and it's being tweeted that Billy is getting 2 games from both Steelers and Pitt.

Despite the criticism of Billy's on-air calls, much of it deserved I guess, I still love him calling games. I also don't have a problem with him staying on the air, although I'm sure some people will.

Billy Hillgrove screamed at me to sit down at a 1973-74 basketball game at the Pitt Field House. I'll never forget that moment that he screamed at me and the rest of the Pitt cheerleaders. The fact that he is still around is encouraging but he must be like 80 years old.

gee douche he was broadcasting a game you effing idiot

I thought Bill's career was over, but I'm glad they let him off easy. Presumably, one of the conditions was that he would get the help he needs. I have always liked Bill because he lives and breathes Pitt.

why do you assume he needs help? with what?

Calling an Uber when he’s blind drunk at 2 in the afternoon- so he doesn’t drive into a building And next time kill someone?
he needs help to make a phone call?

did you need "help" when you tried to pick up all those ugly chicks when you were drunk? Let those who have not done stupid things when they were drinking cast the first citation for public urination..

that is not "help" that is a phone call to a ride service..."help" makes the assumption of a problem (that we do not know of one way or the other such that we make the judgement they need professionals in their lives) one cannot deal with on their own....

my guess Hillgrove is a drunk and not an alcoholic...

He was so blind drunk in the afternoon he drove into a store
That’s having a problem with alcohol.
And yes -
If I get caught driving drunk I’ll have a problem, too
Particularly if I drive into a building

uh, no that i

no, that is being drunk....ever been and done something stupid? .you have no idea if has a problem or not...

If I get caught driving drunk ... if not caught then, uh not so much, eh? hahaha

This is a weird hill to die on
Don’t drive drunk
It’s very easy to do.
correct.never said otherwise....no "help" necessarily required to do so (much like you did--unless, of course, you never, ever drove above a .08 in your entire life )...the point I was making before you had to stick your 68,000+ reply nose into things...

You asked what help he needs
I replied

If you don’t want answers / don’t ask questions

The Dead Kennedy's had a pleasant little song entitled being too drunk to do somethings.......

Went to a party
I danced all night
I drank 16 beers and I started up a fight
But now I am jaded
You're out of luck
I'm rolling down the stairs, too drunk to...................

Always a Bill Hillgrove fan....
We all have demons in our lives.
Hope he gets it all together.

His broadcasts are now awful and impressionistic at best. Pat B spent his time interpreting whatever Hillgrove was trying to say. Time for him to retire.
