Phoenix is a bit of a mess, but I hope Blair gets to see some more PT.

It doesn't seem like much better of a situation there.
This could be it for him. I don't his contract is guaranteed next year.

Blair who?

Good for him. He keeps collecting pay checks. If he saves his money and invests wisely, then he is set for life.

By the way, the rumor is that the Suns plan on releasing Blair. He is not in their lineup tonight. The two for one trade left them with one player too many on their roster.

I'm clueless on NBA pension requirements. Does Blair haveenough time to qualify?

Since he was being garnished while in San Antonio for non-payment on jewelry he had bought while he was dating that phat rapper chick, I'm assuming that wise money management and financial planning is not really in his repertoire.

I really hope I'm wrong but I'd guess he will have to make money wherever he can as long as he can drag those knees around. Better make sure his passport is up to date.

I think it's just three seasons.

It is three years. Also, in the last CBA the NBA and the Union agreed to start 401Ks for the players that are mandatory unless someone opts out. Something like 5-10% of the players salary goes into the fund. The NBA matches up to 140% (no, that's not a misprint).

So if a guy plays in the league as long as Blair has and if he manages his money correctly (certainly not a given) he will be pretty well set up for the rest of his life.

Agree. I don't remember how many years he's been in the league. But it seems long enough to have a few $$ saved for early retirement.
