Borbely was asked about which defensive linemen on Pitt's roster stood out during camp as they went against his guys.
"And then Jaylen Twyman, he was obsessed and still is everyday with football and his technique. He comes in and asks me questions about how we’re trying to block something, what I’m teaching the guards, what I’m teaching the center. He’s a tremendous technician in there, he really stood out."
I followed that up and asked Borbely if it's common for defensive linemen to ask offensive line coaches for advice.
"Some guys do, but I would say he does it more frequently than others. Patrick Jones has come to me, and not tips but it’s kind of like, ‘hey what are you teaching?’ Because the teaching might be different, a guy at Virginia might be teaching things differently than I do, but generally speaking it’s all kind of the same that may come out differently, but he came to me quite a bit. ‘How are you teaching them? How would you tell them to handle this move? How about when I swat and swim? How would you tell them to handle that? So he does it with a lot of frequency. He’s a real student of the game."
