Boston Marathon

I would love, love, love to run the Boston Marathon. I've done them before. Alas, I was not designed to run 26.2 miles at a speed fast enough to qualify.

I did run it once, my qualifying time then was sub 2:50, truly a runners heaven. The festivities that surround Boston were really spectacular, I was fortunate, a buddy of mine lived in Altaborough(spelling) on the outskirts of Boston so I had time to drive the course and see the hills at the 22 mile marker. The marathons that I've run, none are as loud as going through Wellesley college(Boston) the running lane was maybe 6 feet wide and the girls screaming and cheering was deafening. If you have the opportunity to run Boston you will not be disappointed.

Thanks for sharing. maybe some day i will run fast enough to qualify but I doubt it.

I heard good and bad - the good was what you said...a crowd for 26.2 miles of people screaming at you (in a good way).

The bad - too many runners so things slow down just trying to cross the start line.

Fortunately at Boston they have (seatings) based on your time so you did not have people around you that runner slower than you.
