Have stayed pretty silent huh? He runs a decent site (when it works aka rarely) but this silent commit thing is/was poor to say the least.

Runs a good site with lots of good info but the silent commit stuff is silly. Odds of looking bad and ruining your credibility are high. Better to just keep it under your hat if the kid doesn't ready to announce

His site being down all the time isn't doing much for him either

I agree with the silent commit stuff. Hope he stops that. My guess, he was trying to drive traffic to his new site....that is when it works.

i think he took a high percentage gable that we would get a couple commits in the next week or 2 and he would look smart, while driving traffic.

we did, but unfortunately for him they were obviously not 15 day silent commits.

He's a free site and the servers army cheap and right now they don't have the servers for as much high that they have been getting

I like and appreciate Vuk's efforts. But I think that the idea of a kid "silent committing" is silly, no matter where it originates. Just commit, or don't commit. Whatever.

Commits really hold no water until LOI Day anyway. Some players "commit", then continue to take visits elsewhere. On rare occasions (e.g. Harbaugh?), a coach may tell a "committed" kid that his services might be more welcomed elsewhere.

Considering the high end commits we have gotten lately, it is better that there are not enough scholarships. It is wait and see for these kids. Do you want a lowly rated kid or a Hamlin or Watts?

The site is great -- I appreciate anyone who is willing to put in the time to get us more Pitt news.

My take on it that at least one of the silent commits is the "fallback DB" recruit. Can't remember his name and too lazy to look. I think he has wanted to commit, but his "offer" is not committable yet. H2P!

Hes right though. Vuk has done a really good job getting info to the site. He made one mistake and has had a bad day with the site.......otherwise he typically has good info

I agree. He overall does a nice job, but he does need to stop over hyping stuff. I think his site issues will be resolved when they switch to a better hosting company.

Well to be fair who's to say we don't have a silent commit or 2 in the bag. It may be a little early to be jumping on Vuc. If we land Hamlin that could very well be our silent commit and who could say it wasn't.

Except for the fact that he essentially said 1 is imminent. And it's still folly. He could say they have 2 silents then when ANYONE commits he could say that's one of them and there's no proof one way or the other. It's silly.

I think the site is great. I visit it daily and yesterday was the only time I experienced difficulty with it.

But hey, we're talking Pitt message boarders here so of course the criticisms will come out in full force.

I like his site too but I'm not criticizing just for the heck of it. I have tried and failed to access his site a ridiculous number of times. And not that I expect you or anyone to look at it but if you'd look at his Twitter timeline you'll see I'm not alone. Vuk himself has tweeted how annoyed he is. Apparently he's been thru a few lousy hosts already.

Saved me $100 bucks a year.

Between him and Twitter there really isn't a great reason to pay for premium.

That's no offense to Chris as he does a good job but it just isn't necessary.
