My belief in humanity has been taken down a level by the hatred. It's a damn football game. It doesn't mean anything in life. Paterno has been judged, Sandusky will be judged, Joes family will be judged, your all falling into what the news loves, chaos. Relax watch a game have fun. We're all brothers and sisters in this world. My word, please show you are better.
We should all just hold hands and sing Kumbaya huh? No thanks. I can't speak for everyone here, but I am by no means brothers and sisters with the likes of cultists who helped foster and continue to defend the culture that enabled your school's atrocities any more than I am with those that perpetrated any of history's evils.
The cultist culture of hero worship and self-victimization that slaps the face of abuse victims everywhere continues to bear its rotten fruits. There is nothing redeeming about failing to call out evil and injustice or burying one's heads to existing problems just to have a pleasant day at a game.
If people show up at Heinz with JoePa t-shirts and 409 stickers, and mouth off about being victimized by the media and NCAA, then they deserve to suffer whatever consequences and indignities that they bring upon themselves. If Penn State fans just show up and cheer for their team like normal human beings then I hope there are no incidents and Pitt fans should not go to the game looking to create them either. However, based on my experience with the absolute nut jobs that infest the central part of the state I know that hope is unfortunately most likely pure fantasy.
For myself, I did not want the previously scheduled games cancelled because I didn't want to make the University of Pittsburgh part of the revolting story when it broke in 2011, but I was adamant against scheduling any more games, or frankly, any further interaction between the two institutions at any level. I was extremely disappointed when the series was extended and I hope it dies until the culture that pervades Centre County is completely upended. Originally being from Central PA region, I will never again spend a dime in Centre County. Therefore, I will never attend an away game there, but I will not be chased out of our own stadium because of the vile deeds and behavior of the visiting institution, coaches, fans, and administrators.
