Brandon Knight recruiting at Rutgers

i saw the article on Rutgers and how BK is their # 1 recruiter. i know nothing about RU hoops. can anyone tell me if he is landing some quality players for them? Loved BK at pitt and RU isn't exactly a rival so im rooting for him. Recruiting hotbed for sure but Rutgers isn't exactly a brand name so cant imagine it's too easy to land big players there..

Is he a legit recruiter there?

In short, no. Gio Baker was a good get. That's been about it. They dont even have Penn State-level talent and these guys are older now.

He's been pretty good for RU. He helped land Paul Mulcahy, one of the top players from NJ last year. He also helped land Mamadou Doucoure and Ron Harper Jr. Both 4 stars ranked around 150.

Geo Baker was definitely not seen as good get out of HS. He's their best player now but it's all development.

what he's doing needs to be put into perspective. Rutgers is Rutgers. If you sniff a top 50 class you're doing well

I hope Brandin is improving and can get a HC job somewhere someday. JD thrust him into the first chair role way too early, glad he is doing good work for Rutgers.

I’d love to know if the story was true while as an assistant at Pitt that Knight had two really good players set to come, but the guys had baggage and Dixon said no.

Doubt it - as he’s not exactly been lining them up elsewhere - unless those coaches are saying no as well.

well no, of course not and it's not really possible to root for an asst coach. i mean, im not actually rooting for him, or Rutgers basketball in any real way and as you can tell, im not really rooting for him to land players. More curious than anything.

when i say, im rooting for him, it means that i don't really care too much but i did like him 20 years ago so if he is doing well as a coach, that's kind of cool.. but to your point, it's not like im sitting in front of a computer when he's on a recruiting trip to a high school player's home and im on twitter, hitting "refresh" to see how the kid liked his visit with BK.
