Keep Gang at 3rd (His defense has been phenomenal) Move the bearded guy to first (Just looks and hits like a career 1st baseman and move Josh Bell to right field (For now)
He is much too young to bring into the infield .
Let him keep working at 1st base , but keep him in the lineup and screw the baby giraffe !
Hes had how many years to prove himself and frankly its time to move on . IMO
Kerplunko . Just remembered his name .

Josh Bell is one of the worst defenders in baseball. Even at first, he's terrible. He is simply incapable of playing in the outfield. The "baby giraffe" is a better player and only 11 months older, btw. I'm getting the impression that you don't pay much attention to the Pirates. I wouldn't blame you for that, but you'd understand why these hot takes are silly and probably remember the players' names if you did.

Look Pallanco has had 3 or 4 years to show himself .
He has shown :
1: He is inconsistent in both offense and defense .
2: He has no knowledge of running the base paths once he gets on .
3: He is always hurt .
Other than that ...A fine ball player .

By the by sonny . I been a Bucco fan for a long , LONG TIME .
Just sayin .

Josh bell is fun too watch. Love power lefties at pnc. If we can ever get him and polanco hot st same time, well I’ll stop there.

I don't know about Pallanco but Polonco hasn't done squat all year.

1. Polanco's defense isn't inconsistent. He has good range and a great arm, but his instincts aren't the best. He grades out as an above average defender, all things considered.
2. Not even remotely true
3. True, unfortunately, and a legitimate criticism

Even if we pretend that all of your criticisms of Polanco are true, how do the Pirates improve by replacing him with Bell and Bell with Moran? You're throwing away the best player of the 3 without a good reason. Colin Moran can't hit. Josh Bell can't field. Greg Polanco can do a bit of both, but he's the one you think is surplus to requirements?

The above has been known for a while. They did nothing to address it. Nowhere else to put Bell. Moran not an everyday guy, again known.

Heck I'm just thrilled that Archer held Cincy's Statue of Liberty accountable and threw ar him. I would have preferred 95 in his right ear but was pleased Cervilii took exception and called the beanball. Buccos may have won over some fans today. Hopefully Vasquez will remember "Mr ESPN" Puig later this summer.

Where does Polanco grade as above average? Link? If there is a source that says that, it should discontinue that metric. Wow

I drove from Pittsburgh to Columbus and heard the brawl on the BUCS cast and everything after on the Reds
The Reds radio took it as baseball men. You stand and pose...well, you might get plunkef. But in the Reds post game Bell acted like a Puss. Maybe he is a Puss.

If Josh Bell keeps hitting bombs and the average is pretty good I don't care where they play him. Small sample size and Cincinnati pitching may not be a good barometer, but, maybe he can actually have a big year at the plate.

UZR by season:

2014: -1.7
2015: 8.0
2016: 5.1
2017: 3.6
2018: -1.0

As far as specific skills, I shouldn't need to tell you that his arm is elite, both in terms of the eye test and statistically. His range is also well above average, another fact that watching him and analyzing his statistics will reveal.

Gregory Polanco is not what I'd call a particularly instinctive player so he's going to have his fair share of misreads, but his overall defense is not even remotely close to bad. No statistic supports that. Having watched him for 5 years doesn't support that. It's a ridiculous notion.

Cabrera is sneaking up on the bucs lineup. He is hitting really well to start. If he holds up he can really help that bench.

Man kang needs to just work on contact. He is a mess at the plate.

Funny to see liriano in middle inning work. If we can get 80 solid innings from him this year it would be huge.

I have to admit as critical as I am of this franchise, the team really showed well this week. The Reds (who just gave Nutting/Coonelly/Huntingdon) more ammunition for not signing big ticket free agents over this past week, the Pirates saw them down and just stepped on them.

Love the brushback pitch. Loved standing up to the Reds.

Brushback? He threw it behind him. More like brush forward. I like it too.

Baseball fights crack me up though. Everyone runs out to immediately grab each other. There is always the one angry tough guy that fakes outrage, full well knowing he’s not going to get thru 20 people holding him back to his target.

Why hold anyone back? They are all grown men. Just once I’d love to see everyone clear out to see if that one tough guy really is angry or if he’s just acting like it cause he knows people are in middle of him.

The Pirates should be ready and the next time this Dietrich guy shows them up, throw at the very next player, he wants to be a tough guy , and the team wants to defend him, let him deal with his teammates getting plunked.

I watch alot of baseball in fact we get Extra Innings so we can follow the Pirates since we're out of market.
I don't get the " show them up thing" about baseball culture.

In football when a player scores a TD, recovers a fumble, or gets an interception the Party is on for the allowable time limit. The players look and stare at the opponents bench and players.

In golf a guy sinks a 40 ft putt to take the lead or gets a hole in one, he throws his club ( example Si Wu Kim this weekend) a few feet puts his hands over his head, looks at his opponents who are standing next to him and says take some of that. Well maybe he says that?

In basketball a player hits a long 3 pointer or blocks a shot and usually pumps his fist as he runs back on defense and gives his opponents the ya it was me look. Take some of that and there's more where that came from.

Other sports have similar celebrations or personal expressions.

But in baseball, the pitcher throws the guy a meatball, the batter hits it out of the park into the Chattahoucee River ten miles away, he stands there, watches it, and all hell breaks loose.
Baseball is the only sport where you get your as- beat when you do something great?

The team on the field should throw balls at their pitcher for throwing a meatball.

Now if a pitcher is taking headshots at your guys that's different. Now it's time for a good ole fashion " butt whopping." Which in baseball terms is a bunch of guys throwing leather gloves at eachother.

Hockey has a lot of unwritten code also.

Haha, yes "but all hell breaks loose" in baseball is akin to Larry and Moe holding Schimp back while he screams, "Let me at'em! Let me at'em!"
Lol!
I saw one "dust up" last season when teammates let the guy go and he just stood there not knowing what to do.

Hold me back, hold me back, throws his glove. Now take that you brute!

Puig was the one guy who needed held back. He has more than one screw loose.

perfect analogy.

there was a great mound charge years ago where the dude actually kicked the catcher down and then charged the mound cause he knew the catcher would just hold him back. It was beautiful and you knew full well, this wasn't an act, the batter wanted to kill the pitcher..

It’s The National Pastime.....goes back to the Civil War, records exist from the 90s...1890s

It was largely a sport played by tough country boys and men.

It just is what it is.....

I just don't get the dudes who run in from the bull pen out past center field wall, only to come in and immediately hold someone. did you really need to jog in? Was your presence really necessary for this charade?

they should just run into the other bullpen with their relief pitchers and just immediately hold each other, save the effort of doing it in the infield where that's all they do..

Must be a white thing

In addition to hockey and baseball its the same code for golf, auto racing, soccer, MMA, surfing, swimming, curling, ski racing, Nordic skiing, ski jumping, and bowling.

Sure definitely Must Be A White Thing?

Not curling.
The Asians play it.....
With smoking women teams.

Golf and baseball not white....not by a long shot.

Curling is actually as much of a game as soccer......imo more interesting as well

Oh, for the days of Dock Ellis and Bruce Kison.
