He could have still been redshirting AND been the backup QB.

There was no greater chance of Pickett throwing an 80 yard TD vs Syracuse than snapping it directly to Henderson and doing 10 laterals for a TD. Really, one of the worst decisions in Pitt history. Even if he turns out to be terrible, its still just a terrible decision

Pickett needs to get in the game next Saturday at some point. Unless there is a miracle and we beat va tech and Miami, playing these last two games without even seeing Pickett would be a complete waste of time. This season is a complete train wreck, they absolutely have to have everything in order and know what they're doing before week 1 2018 and who they're gonna do it with.

Since the season is lost I would recommend playing him more and more in these last two weeks. I think that he needs to get multiple series per game going forward.

Do you not understand that him losing a full year could potentially be a big deal? If Pickett turns into a good college qb (big if) it would have been like if Walt burned palko’s rs one of his years he backed up Rutherford.

I first thought yes great idea start Pickett after the PITT fast thinking coaching staff "braintrust" runs the kid out for one worthless play!

After thinking about what you posted with our O Line who cant seem to block anyone or anything he would probably be beat up bad!

Let DiNucci take the pounding of the last two games which might solve one QB issue for next year!

Agree. Our WR are not getting open against UNC, what makes you think they will get open against VT and Miami with way better DBs?

Really we wanted him to play the last two games in at least some capacity to get experience and instead he has sat behind a kid who can't throw and should be a G5 backup, at best.

Are you saying the last 2 games as in Virginia and NC? If that is what you mean then I agree. If you mean you want him playing against VT and Miami, sorry no thanks, nothing good could come from that at this point. If he had reps the last few games I could see that but with his current experience level no thank you.

How can you malign an O-line that lines up a Walk on at the center spot...
Not enough light has been shed on the fact that they didn’t have enough talented linemen that were actually recruited to fill up the o-line.

UVA and UNC, but yes he should still get time against VT and Miami. He needs experience, DiNucci stinks, and we need to know what we have.

Are we suppose to have designated qbs for the Rice and FCS teams of the world? Let him play. Simple 3 step drops and let him get the ball out quickly

They’ll eat that alive. Miami is already strong and athletic enough to stop our run game with just their front 7. A quarterback who drops back and does constant three-step drops would force them to load the box in anticipation of quick throws. That would be a terrible game plan. That basically what we do now!

All the more reason he should have played 100% of the time after burning his red-shirt. I mean is Pitt afraid DiNucci is going to transfer?? Pickett could have gained some confidence leading up to VT and Miami. Now it is probably too late. A botched decision by Narduzzi!
