BYU vs Navy

Agreed.... the non game commentary should be before the game, halftime or after. Let the game exist!

Tried to watch Memphis vs Ark St game Saturday until the commentators decided to talk about race and race relations for 8 consecutive plays without even acknowledging that their job was to cover the game. Warm up your mute button.

Agreed .. It would be hard enough to actually watch Ark St. vs. Memphis !

I think most fans like to get away from politics and other issues when watching football. Football brings you together as a team and teammates as one unified group. Each player has each others back no matter where you come from as far as I remember playing football. We all were together on the field and off the field.

Happy. happy, happy. There has been virtually nothing of interest for me these past six months.
Well.....I am a huge hockey fan and despite the Pens failures I have been enjoying the hell out of these playoffs. They have been great. But I have to admit, now that it is "game week" for HS, college and Pro, this is the first sense of some normalcy for me since the pandemic completely changed the world.

It is weird, I mean football really is trivial, but it is truly America's past time now, and America needs some irrelevant diversions from everything going on politically and healthwise. Because this obsession and divisiveness is not healthy.

When Mitt Romney’s nephew looks like Gronk on a TE screen pass you start to realize it’s just a bad day for the Midshipmen.

Wow. That was completely ugly. Really, if Navy didn't do any contact drills since spring, they probably should not have played this season.

That one BYU TD where the receiver easily broke through about 6 missed tackles was painful to watch.

This may be the rule rather than the exception. Modern football is so regimented and structured. From spring practice, to summer conditioning, to 3 a days in camp. Now that has all been disrupted. Between the abbreviated practices, and teams canceling practice due to COVID, I'm not sure what we'll see this fall.

Also the no fans for football was very very spooky. You can cue all the Heinz field jokes for Pitt, but there is a big difference with completely empty. I wonder if players will have a hard time not treating it as just a scrimmage.

I wonder if refs will be inclined to ignore "home field" factors now that crowds are out of the equation.
