Campbell Returning

This is very positive news. The LB'r group has gotten better
the past few years. Campbell and Pine both returning will
join Bright, Davis, and Dennis as all potential starters. Those
five have all started in the past. Two of them who won't start
along with George, who has also started, will give this group
real talented depth not seen here lately. The other backups
are also talented and can be brought along slowly.

I thought last year's group was better than expected. This
year's group will be even better yet, and a team strength.
The new LB'r coach will be working with a great group.

It's the best LB group we've had here in a long time. I think Davis is better than Pine, and Dennis is a star in the making. Campbell and Bright are solid players.

I agree, but since you made some personal choices,
go ahead and give your opinion who the three
starters will be.

My opinion,,,,,,Campbell, Bright and Dennis are the
three best. I'm not sure if that's the best combination
though.

With this amount of depth at LB'r, would a 3 Down
Lineman and 4Lb'rs be a possibility some of the time?

I tend to agree with your opinion, but not sure I like any of those at MLB. I would start Dennis - Davis - and alternate Bright and Campbell. Davis comes out on likely passing downs.

Packer and Durham had a conversation a couple of weeks ago about the "extra year" available to players because of the virus. I thought the players could all remain at their current schools to use their "extra year", but that's not the case.

If a school has had a player on scholarship for four years, they are not required to grant that additional year to the player in question. He may have to go to another school to use the "extra year".

Of course, if the player is wanted back by the current school, he's more than welcome. It's just not a guaranteed thing.
