....A dominant offensive line.

When Pitt's offense has had their most success, it was with a great offensive line.

I don't want to take anything away from the importance of the skill positions, they still have to see the hole, make the throw, catch the ball, etc. But the reason why those holes are there, and the reason why Peterman could make the throw was because of a great line. Conner was a great fit for the line, as well as the Henderson. The play calling kept the other team from keying on plays or formations.

It was mentioned that the amount of sacks, holding penalties, false starts, etc for this group was amazingly low. It sure makes the OC's job easier when you have great (college) players up front making things happen.

We will be fine, maybe not as successful as this year, but as long as the recruiting and development of the "big men" is ongoing, we have a fighting chance.

Agreed and I've said that a few times as well. Throw in no James Conner and a totally unknown at QB.

I'm not saying the sky is falling but there was room for concern even if Canada stayed.

The plays were fun and creative because they worked. If you run an inside shovel pass or jet sweep to a 250 lb white guy on 3rd and 11, you look foolish if it doesn't work.

But the offensive line, the players, the getting guys the ball with their feet moving, are all big factors.

That said, obviously his ability to make sure they are executing at a high level, and WHEN the plays are called are big factors. But certainly so are the players and I agree the line cannot over looked.
