Can blame him today for being a lousy recruiter.
We can blame this staff at least for how bad the defense tackles.

Matt House watched the game today and thought it was the best defensive performance he's ever seen in his life. Considering every defense he's coached has been the worst thing to step onto a football field, if he saw today's game it probably would've been the best he ever saw.
We scored 4 TDs in the second half. Teams with average talent don't usually do that against top 5 teams. I think you sell Pitt short.
Do you think that Chryst/House should have been able to recruit at the level of ND?
Chryst did play ND twice, and would have won both games if not for a couple of horrible calls by the officials in the 29-26 loss in South Bend. I don't get the need to constantly bash Chryst by some on this board.
2 of them were more or less garbage time, the last one on a fluky play by NDs 3rd string QB, who was only in the game because it was all but over. Not all TDs are created equal. Let's not glorify this thing by talking about the stats and final score. We all have eyes-we got our asses kicked today by a much better team.
Because there is a certain group of people who have already declared that Narduzzi is the greatest coach in the history of Pitt football. And the best way for them to be able to make that point when things aren't going as well as we might hope is to pretend that the previous regime sucked more suck than any other suck in the history of suck. I mean we've even seen people on here recently saying that Chryst's first year, when it was a minor miracle that he was able to get a team that was in the kind of shape and the disarray that this program was in to finish 6-6 and make a bowl game, was proof that he was a terrible coach. Seeing as to how Narduzzi inherited a program significantly better off than the one the Chryst inherited those folks need the season to finish much better or they won't know what to make of it.
Amazing that every year people say the team is such a mess if we do anything at all it's a miracle. But win some games we should and lose to a team that is just lights out better and all of a sudden we should've won because we're all of a sudden that good. Truth is, Pitt has not been a "mess" since the 90s. If anyone thinks otherwise just google the scores of Pitt games from the 90s and I assure you along with that, there was a lot of bad publicity off the field. We're also not "great" yet. Without James Conner right now, we're right on track. Year 1 and we are doing well, not great but well.
I can assure Pitt will never drop down to being a complete mess ever again. And when Pitt becomes good enough to play the #5 ranked team in the country and beat them, maybe in a game Pitt was even favored, we will know it. Now is not quite that time, but it is not far away.
LMAO. Good stuff. Also keep in mind that the posters who have already declared Narduzzi the greatest coach in the history of Pitt football did the very same thing with Chryst when he was here. And I suspect some of those same posters are also the ones who are now pissing on Chryst's headstone. The Lair is nothing if not consistent.
