Hand up 🙋♂️ I was wrong and have fought with people for years defending Capel as I truly believed a lot of the deficiencies over his tenure were a bit out of his control. This season has turned into an absolute abomination of a team that was supposed to continue the past two years 20+ win seasons.
1.) the team plays with no consistency and constantly gives off signs of poor coaching. Our out of timeout sets, lack of ball movement, horrible defensive rotations is glaring on a night to night basis.
2.) Jaland Lowe is a talented player but clearly Capel did not surround him with enough shooting to support his PG. Lowe’s turnovers have been staggering and often times the head coach puts him in very poor situations.
3.) Capel brought back every single piece he wanted to going into this year… we heard all offseason about the “depth” this years team would display. When fully healthy Capel only trusted 6-7 guys on a nightly basis amidst constant struggles from certain guys in the lineup. NIL and not having “money” is simply not an excuse.
The Jeff Capel Era is over and Allen Greene needs to figure out a way to negotiate the best buyout possible this offseason. It’s time to reset as 6/7 years with no tournament appearances is simply unacceptable. My season tix will be on sale to the board the rest of the year.
