Capel extended

The obvious move, and one to be expected. It's been two years since he signed his original deal, so this is just matching the original length of the contract. Wouldn't think there would be too much of a salary bump - if anything, Capel is probably more focused on getting some more of the facilities boxes checked off.

Im happy with it. I am trying not to get upset at losses like the other day because I believe next season is when we will really see some depth on the roster and see some real progress in terms of W's.

I think we beat wake with Toney's D. His presence should not be undervalued. Capel can win with time. And for all the Buzz comparison's with VT, he did not turn around a 0-win conference team. BC is a more realistic gauge and we are following their path (2 wins the year after being winless in conference and 7-11 in year 3 with an overall winning record). If we can land Jeffress and keep Hood, we are in great shape. I like the extension.

You won't be so happy if you see the same results we are experiencing now 2 years hence.

He will get fired if the program hasn't progressed in 2 years. Pretty simple but I don't think anyone anticipates that happening. They are on the right path to build a sustainable successful program.

I personally don't put too much stock in coach's extensions because with a little buyout clause it's worth the paper that I write on. Now in saying that I am thrilled to know that coach will probably be here for a while.

I think it's well deserved. I hate when people say what I'm about to say - but you can feel he's on the verge of something we haven't seen in a while, recruiting wise. I think he's done such a good job that people have already forgotten just how far the program sunk under Stallings
