1) Capel is full of excuses as to why Pitt hasn’t won more games.

2) Capel is still in love with Duke and Coach K. An interview should always circle back to your own program, but he kept talking about his time as a player and coach at Duke.

But 1 HS recruit last year who wasn't ranked in the Top 250 and hasn't shown to be anything more than a "rotation player" eventually combined with 0 recruits this year makes fans ask what's the point of keeping him. I mean his 2020-21 + 2021-22 classes are easily the worst in the P6 by a mile. Hard to build a program with that

Then all of a sudden he’ll be able to recruit again.

The interview was fine. Capel does a great job in these interviews. He checks a lot of boxes except for the winning of games.

I don't think Capel wants to be an assistant anymore. I totally see him taking over a MEAC school and doing quite well, recruiting mid-major level players to a low major conference.

They are D2. I think he'd make more as an assistant at Duke but I think he wants to be a HC. He can win in the MEAC and potentially land the East Carolina job eventually.

2) Off the court issues
3) Player transfers
4) Gannon had a better recruiting class than Capel had the past year.
5) We have zero recruits for next year.

Yeah, it's kinda obvious with the lack of literacy and poor sentence structure along with the obtuse responses.

As for Capel, I also liked the guy when he was hired and was hopeful he'd do a bangup job at Pitt. I know otherwise now. He's an excuse machine and has yet to produce a positive result at Pitt in recruiting or coaching. He's better than Stallings, but only by a hair. If he can coach these guys to more than 4 ACC wins this year, I'd be very surprised. But in his 4th year, the expectation would be at least 10 ACC wins and a post season tournament. That isn't happening.
