Just write in "Poker" and they'll know what you mean.Where is the option for two national championships and three final fours per decade. I expect nothing less.
Is there really much difference between options 1 and 2?
He'll be gone after year 5 most likely. If we somehow make the NIT in year 5 perhaps Heather gives him a 6th season to see if Pitt can finally get back to the NCAA Tournament. And because Narduzzi will be canned in 2 years she'll be paying that buyout and dealing with that situation so she might have to hold off on getting rid of Capel until year 6.I think Option 4 is the most realistic as of right now. Unless he can significantly upgrade the roster immediately and do a better job developing the talent on hand, the only question is if he gets canned after year 4 or 5.

But next year looks to be another bad season based on the lack of recruits, the players that have left and still might leave and the fact that Capel's teams always collapse late. So it's probably gonna be for all the marbles for year 5.
DUKE UNC only teams to worry about we just need 1 nice shooter and one big time player to bring us along to the next step then after that I think few bigger recruits for us will come are way.Should not there be options such as PITT will be a top third program but only because the rest of the ACC was down? Had they beaten wake and split with NC state they would be 8-7 right now and in that position. I chose option 2. I feel that with Duke, UNC, Virginia, FSU, etc., there are just two many top heavy teams for sustained regular season dominance. However, I think he has a higher chance for success in the tourney if he can land more diamond in the rough players that the Dixon/Howland teams never had to get over the hump. I would gladly take a 4-6 seed with upsets to get to Elite 8 rather than regular season success with an early tourney exit.
A ton. Option 1 is like 1-4 NCAAT seeds just about every year. Option 2 is like 5-12 NCAAT seeds most years
The average tournament seed under Howland and Dixon is 5. That's without taking into consideration the years they didn't make the tournament. That's not the same as 1-4 every year.
I'm not going to calculate the average tournament seed for every ACC team during that time, but 5 sounds about right. There's not "a ton" of difference.
I don't get the Dixon I and II thing. He's not two people and he's not like Johnny Majors. His career record is what it is. You can say the Howland era and the Dixon era, or the Howland/Dixon era. But saying Howland/Dixon I and Dixon II is silly.
Dixon I: HOF Coach and #1 seeds
Dixon II: ordinary bubble coach
Coach K I: ordinary coach
Coach K II, III, IV, V: HOF coach
Coach K VI better get that get that program straightened out, or he's not going to make the HOF.
What's going on with BoeheimV ?
I'm disappointed in Capel I. Hopefully Capel II is much better.
