Because he’s been off too many games and lack of practice...disagree...he looks scared and lacks confidence in his shot...I think his time is up

You’d know more than the coach. He’s still shooting. He’s just missing them.

Almost every shot he took looked like it was going in.

It’s a shame he’s in such a slump. If he shot respectably today we would have won. They were good shots that he has to take though. Just didn’t make them.

he looked better today, shooting. looked stronger and more confident. defensively, he looks slower and weaker than he did earlier in the year. earlier in the year, he was scrappy, rebounded, played better D.
Agree

He wasn’t the only one.there were a lot of open looks missed by multiple players that could have made the difference.great effort in the comeback bid though.right there is why you don’t give up on a game or leave early you just never know.

I’m sure rust is a part of the issues RM is having , but the quality of athletes he’s facing make him work harder his shot and takes away a few precious milliseconds that through his rhythm off .

Maybe if Pitt actually set good screens and ran plays for him he’d be more successful .

I paid particular attention to how Pitt screened in the first half and only TB set a good screen and guess what X scored ....co incidence ?

There was a possession in the second half where he ran the baseline and we set two screens to try to pick his guy off. But, as is his usual problem, he didn't run himself right off the screener's body so his defender was able to just chase him right through, so that when he got to the opposite side and caught the pass the defender was right there with him.

Guys can't set good hard screens for you if you have no idea how to run off them.

And is still our top 3 point shooter. What does that tell you?
That he isn’t even able to get shot off

Xavier is also at 33%
Toney and trey are at 30%
Which means they are all essentially indistinguishable .

so what it tells me is we have some posters who love to hang onto a narrative - but don’t understand math

He’s short , unathletic- and doesn’t move much on offense .

he’s incredibly easy to guard and does very little to work for an open look.
I disagree the problem is that we have no other threats so he is over guarded. Next year when Horton is playing watch how much better Murphy becomes.

He won’t be any better unless he starts moving with purpose and cutting off screens .
If he continues to stand still and just float outside /‘he needs to sit on the bench

Tell Heather that you know more than the coach. Maybe she will hire you.
