The one could have played professionally somewhere, maybe the WNBA but not exactly sure. But the fact that they dont want to try and are opting out of their last year of college eligibility tells you everything you need to know. They will become very rich wearing scantily clad outfits in the WWE. Its funny because there's that new women's sports campaign that urges fans to watch their games. It says something like "when you watch the game, you change the game." But this is an example of players who dont see that they can make enough money playing their sport of choice, due to lack of viewership (ie salaries) so they have opted to sell skin and do some acting.

I wouldn’t say they will be selling skin. The female WWE product is more about athleticism than it is about looks these days. Sure their looks will help their persona and popularity, but if you turn on a WWE show, their women aren’t exactly being hired and pushed for their looks like they were back in the day 20 years ago. It used to be that the women were sexualized people who happened to wrestle. Now these girls will be wrestlers who are athletic but also happen to look good.

These girls are into the social media thing, right? They already have a brand? This will help them the same way the WWE is helping Logan Paul with his brand. And then they can parlay it into tv shows and maybe even movies.

Can’t say I blame them.

I don't blame them either. And I am sure the WWE girls are athletic and good at what they do. However, I am sure they will be wrestling in glorified bikinis. If they were ugly, they wouldn't have gotten a WWE contract.

How is that any different from literally any professional wrestler?

Just admit you want them to start an onlyfans so you can subscribe. You’ve spent way too much energy talking about what these women and Livvy Dunne wear in their instagram posts.

There has never been a male athlete who has left school early for the WWE

They are privileged because of their good looks and the fact that they are twins. And they already have a brand that they built off of it.

If they were 259lb Samoan twin power lifters, they’d have got the same contract.

They're going to be a new version of The Bella Twins, they'll be doing more reality show stuff than actual rasslin.

I was actually talking about your obsession with what they wear. It’s been a good 20 years since I watched any wrasslin’ but pretty sure they’re all “scantily clad.”

So first off, the twins arent good enough to play in the wnba, either of them. Second, its about more than just going to the wwe, they started a sponsorship with betr which is a gambling site. I font know the exact rules but i think the ncaa wouldnt look too fondly at that. Third, they are “leaving early” but thats just because they have the covid year left. They likely have already graduated and likely dont have a future in professional bball, its not any different than nick patti deciding its in his best interest to move on with his lifes work

Men, like the Rock or Goldberg for example, won't go to wrestling. for the most part until after they've give a real sport their best shot, even the Macho Man was a minor league baseball player.

im not sure what SMF's point here is. should the WWE hire ugly lesbo looking broads in the name of equality?

My point is that their looks are the reason for foregoing a year of eligibility and potentially a pro career in Europe, if not the WNBA (for one of them). I bring up these girls and Livvy Dunne because everyone says how great they are for women's sports but they have the opportunities they do due to how they look in their Instagram photos/videos. Caitlin Clark and Angel Clark....those are 2 athletes that truly are great for women's sports.

an attractive (and straight) female in the wnba who is good, would do wonders for that league, no disagreement there. unfortunately, they are unicorns..

but if they arent good enough for the wnba now, i doubt they will be next year and well if the window is open to make some money on your looks, do it now cause looks dont last forever..

I cant say I watch the WNBA but she averaged 12 PPG on an Elite 8 team. I think she makes a WNBA team simply based on her looks and being borderline end of the roster good enough. She would be very marketable and would hit a demographic that is under-represented as you mentioned.

They’ll make way more coin in WWE. Or probably with their following anywhere really. Going to the WNBA would be a mistake on their part and I’m sure they know it.

look at a WNBA roster then look at them,

Haley is the good one. She would have to be the most attractive WNBA player in history if she made it. For a league dying for ratings, it couldn't hurt to have a different type of player, a player who appeals to straight men and young white girls. She would 100% make a WNBA roster due to her marketability. Imagine a team with Caitlin Clark + Haley the Instagram star? That's a pretty good product. But I dont blame them for taking the WWE money.

They would for turn some heads on the basketball court. Feel like they would just be all faked up looking with wrestling.

Go check the Miami Women's Basketball ratings and see if any of their games were anywhere close to a top rated game, with the same twins on the roster. Your point is irrelevant.

No one is tuning in to watch those twins play basketball.

They are not good enough for the wnba, their are 12 teams the better twin was of equivelent of nelly cummings in terms of ability. If they were in the wnba it would only be because of their social media influence. The reason they arent playing ball anymore is because it takes up too much time and limits potential sponsorships.

Yeah, there is literally a 0.0% chance the one twin would make the WNBA (she averaged 3.8, 1.3, 1.6 as a 5-6 guard). And the other twin finished in 14th in the voting for all ACC this past season, and was almost closer in the voting to someone who got one point than she was to the player who had the 10th most votes. Her chance of making the WNBA might not have been 0.0%, but it certainly wasn't much better than that.

It was far, far more likely that they were going to stay at Miami and play another year there than to declare for the WNBA. But when the lesser twin decided that she didn't want to play any more at all, the better twin decided that she didn't want to stay at Miami without her sister.

Both of them were smart enough to know that the WNBA wasn't really an option. SMF, not so much.

The better one would have made the WNBA due to marketability, not merit and its not like she would be that far off.

There are first round WNBA draft picks who never amount to anything more than bench players that don't last long in the league because of the limited number of teams and the small amount of player turnover from year to year. She isn't even close to being good enough to even be a first round draft pick. Heck, if the WNBA draft was limited to just players from the ACC she probably wouldn't be a first round draft pick.

She simply isn't good enough to play in the WNBA, and she isn't really even close to being that good.

no one is watching the wnba guys, not now, not with or without the twins, not with wwe wrestlers, it's a terrible terrible product.. there is a reason they need subsidized by tens of millions of dollars by the nba to even operate..

They should develop some sort of hybrid sport. I think women coming off the rim with a clothesline to stop a drive could really help with ratings.

It's not like have a better looking bench warmer will get people to watch WNBA games.

Yeah, people wouldn't watch if one of the teams had a really attractive player on it who played, let alone if they had one who sat at the end of the bench and the only time anyone saw her was when the camera panned the team huddle during timeouts.
