Why do you think that's a good thing? Our Spring semester has already began, and the word was that he probably couldn't transfer here as an undergrad (i.e. would have to graduate and commit here in May). If he's announcing now, it probably won't be to Pitt.
As long as he suits up game 1, i don't care when he comes.
The offense needs some more experience.

Not difficult to become academically eligible for hotel management. Kid has grade problems but st penn will take him. Congrats 👏
I'm sure they did, but his credits wouldn't transfer to Pitt to be eligible in the Spring. Coming to Pitt meant not enrolling until the Fall. Same thing that cost us Colbie Young or whatever his name was this past Fall.
I think a lot of you guys don’t pay any attention to what other programs are doing with the portal. Pitt is well down the list in terms of quality added.
Narduzzi hasn’t landed one of the top 100 rated players in the portal, all of whom are spoken for. We’ve lost 10 to the portal, added 4. Now maybe 5. Killing it might be a little overstated.
Cephas would be a solid get at a need spot but he didnt exactly set the world or even the MAC on fire in his 4 years at Kent. Mumpfield came in with more upside, and he didn’t move the needle last year. Wayne leaving was a lot more consequential than a guy like Cephas coming in.
I just hope The Jurk pans out, that would make a big difference.

I was afraid of that. The WR commit that had from the portal a few weeks ago "decided" to look elsewhere.
Elsewhere was WVU. But yeah - very possible they realized they could get Cephas on board for the Spring and told the dude from NC State, "Upon second thought..."
I would agree we're not killing it in the portal and we should be doing better but outside of Morgan we haven't lost much neither
And he should be hailed for making room so the younger guys can get some run.
Sucks to have lost Dennis, Wayne, Hill, Hallett, Kancey, Izzy, and Baldonado though. Pretty much with anyone pro prospectus left. That's some shitty luck.
Edit: Williams came back. So we're batting .125. Still higher than whomever will be hitting cleanup for the Pirates this year.

I know. My bad... Didn't mean to conflate the two. I'm just saying that, regardless of where they ended up, seems like we lost a lot of guys who could have been key pieces next season.
Slovis is another portal loss, depending on how you look at it I guess. And Bradley probably could have been decent, but if his attitude sucked I guess it's not worth pining over.
I mean not really? Less than 2 weeks ago we were reported the favorites by a national reporter on gameday. That’s not good optics at this point and it sucks bc psu cheats
Don't say they cheat, because he may have wanted to come here but couldn't. Bottom line we lost our on a MAC receiver with 1 year left. We didn't think he was good enough out of high school. If he had come here he would have transferred out from lack of playing time so it is what it is. Who knows if the kid can play at this level or not.
It's not the end of the world that we didn't get cephas and I don't know what relievers are left in the portal but this core we have now is below average
That Terry Smith from Penn State does a number with local recruit. He kicks our butts as he did in this case with Cephas.

We are doing about as well in the portal as we are recruiting high school guys. Too bad the Coastal is gone- winning the division was always possible at our level.
