** I was about 50 miles from the Pete last night, but decided NOT to brave the round-trip for a litany of reasons; main one was family-related (I am in the area visiting family). As nice as it would've been to see another game "live", and to catch up with fellow Board members whom I've met, I think I made the correct choice - especially after reading from other posters how difficult the driving conditions were

** ThisTv was available, so I watched their feed; Brando and Gminski are serviceable as a broadcast team; didn't seem to "favor" one team over the other. Offered a pretty objective commentary IMO

** As I posted last night, it sucks as a fan of the program to:
1) not have your team as part of the Selection Sunday process
2) see the regression from the tough, defense-minded Pitt teams of the recent past become almost timid by comparison

** Not sure that I have the answers to or suggestions for how to "fix" things; the "things" that are clearly obvious to me (a non-technical fan) is our horrendous defense, lack of "tough" athleticism, and lack of scorers from the guard spots. But those are clearly obvious to ANYONE who follows Pitt BB

** I am in agreement with other posters who suggest that we may have to "expunge" several current underclassmen from the roster and open a few more scholarships - focus on the Classes of 2016/2017 and get back to recruiting tougher athletes, especially guards

** We are probably going to be a 3-4 seed in the NIT; maybe higher if we win 2-3 games in the ACCT

WE are off the NCAA bubble right now and our only chance to get back on it is at least 3 wins in a row which would mean winning a quarter final game in the tournament.

My hope now is we don't lose our way onto the NIT bubble.

I'd hope that our still relatively low RPI number will help us stay safely in the NIT selections, regardless of the outcome of the FSU game and ACCT. Of note, too, is keeping the 20 win season record going. I think that now that the NCAAT is out of reach (save for a miracle run in the ACCT) our guys will be a bit more loose and win a few more games.
