It sounds like Pitt is backing off from recruiting Leonard Taylor.
Taylor is a four-star defensive end prospect, but he wants a chance to play tight end in college. Pitt was among a few schools willing to give him that chance, but it seems like they may have shifted their focus in the last week or so.
A couple thing that may have played into this:
- The talk of Noah Palmer playing tight end; that would cover the tight end spot in the 2018 class
- The commitment of Kaymar Mimes and the continued pursuit of Habakkuk Baldonado
With Palmer, Mimes and potentially Baldonado - or maybe just with the first two - they're more or less covered at both spots Taylor could potentially play. So we're taking Taylor off the official visit list for next weekend.
