Wonder if today there would be an angle of John not surviving the ground
I firmly believe that play gave Pitt's administration a false sense of security. They laughed at Sherrill and A&M, saw the talent pool in wpa and believed they couldn't lose.
Foge proved them wrong, Cas was pushed out in April of '82 and the steel mills fell in '83 starting the slow and enduring drop in population in western PA.
Frankly, I don't ever want to see that video clip again. We've been stuck in the past some 35 years.
Let it go. It wasn't as great then as people would lead you to believe.
Pitt fans can't really take much joy from it...I'm a real Pitt fan and I take plenty of joy from it. Anybody else?...speak for yourselfYeah, that was a good one. Unfortunately, for obvious reasons, Pitt fans can't really take much joy from it. We've been even worse than Georgia since then. Hell, we've been worse than almost every power 5 school and at least a dozen non power 5 schools since then. Man, I hope Pickett can lead us back!
