as usual some high profile money schools will have openings.
Did Narduzzi get an extension yet?

there are now contradictions to that report--Texas AD says they will discuss Strong's situation at the end of the season which means they'll fire him after this Saturday's game vs TCU rather than now.

Narduzi isn't going anywhere. In all this talk of big money and big schools there is little talk of loyalty. Some people have it and I think he is one.
Besides you would be stupid (and I'm sure he is not) to give up a program you are building where you can be that coach that does no wrong and be here as long as you like to bolt to a school that will have you on a short lease-i.e Texas and strong.
Narduzzi has to decide does he want to be Urban Meyer or Lane Kiffin ? Not a hard choice.

Strong"s post game conference was one of the most exciting that I've ever watched.
I viewed it three times and it was the same each time he said nothing.
Maybe that's part of the problem.
No matter how bad the team played and maybe the staff coached come up with something!

not an insider but that texas job sounds like a nightmare. Every school has boosters that want involved but texas sounds like it has the worst. Big money boosters that demand access and influence into the football program. That has got to be a nightmare for a HC, "hey, thanks for the money there Hoss but no, you cant call the plays or be inside the locker room for pre game speeches".

Coaches now-a-days will either get salary bumps every year, get fired, or get other offers. the market is so crazy, that is the way it is.

Look for Narduzzi to get a few hundred thou more as a raise. And really it should be that way . We like the direction we are headed, so lets pave the way to that direction

I watched his press conference three times because I thought I might have had a seizure the first two times or my gigantic big screen tv froze or my crappy cable company signal stopped since no words came out of his mouth!

He probably can't say what he would like to for fear of being fired with cause.

He was never given a real chance by those big hat MFers. Red McCombs was talking shit about the hire two days after he was announced.

mccombs can talk the talk because he's" big hat, big hurd",and walks, the walk.you'd choke on the amount of BIG BUCKS he's laid on the U of Texas. the chancellor of the university answers the phone personally when mccombs calls.they did an end run around red when strong(weak) got hired. won't happen again.

What are you saying? Urban and Lane have both moved around a lot.

You should probably read Charlie's resume before you talk nonsense with bad grammar. Strong rebuilt Louisville from the Steve Kragthorpe mess and beat Florida in the 2012 Sugar Bowl. Dude isn't exactly Al Golden.

I think he is a fine coach and thought his system would work great there.
But, round peg, square hole.
There are a lot of mediocre P5 programs who should reach out to him the moment this plays out.

Lane really hasn't. He just made the UT to USC move, which I think anyone in their right mind would make every time. Other than that, he had 1 year as a Grad Assistant at CSU, 1 year as a QCA in NFL, 6 years as an assistant at USC, Raiders for two years before he was forced out, then he did leave for USC abruptly, before being fired from there. Since then he has been OC at Alabama.

So really, Kiffin's only vagabond/Irish exit move was UT to USC. Everywhere else he got substantial promotions or was fired.

Urban Myer had a heart attack and faked "time with family" as a reason to escape the SEC/Saban, but even he hasn't really been a jump around guy, either, IMO. Bowling Green to Utah to UF were clear upgrade situations. That isn't bouncing around IMO.

I don't understand oldpantherfan's comparison or the narrative that either Meyer or Kiffin have bounced around. The difference between the two has been the success as HC, which (obviously) overwhelmingly favors Meyer.

I wonder if Kiffin would've made the move to USC if he had any idea the sanctions were going to be so severe?
Good chance he wouldn't, but he is a cocky SOB, so maybe. I think everyone was shocked at the sanctions. They are even more ridiculous when you then have subsequent cases which seem A LOT more like "lack of institutional control" and outright cheating than what USC got sanctioned for.
