Apparently is transferring to Wisconsin.

His HS film was very impressive, what happened?

Just buried behind too many good Backs at Pitt, just a numbers game or is there another problem with the kid as a player?

Thanks in advance.

He didn't break many tackles, and seemed to go down quickly after contact. Some of our backs would get an extra 3 yards after contact, while he seems to get dropped right away. He needs to be stronger; not sure he will get there. I think Hall has his same skill set, but with the strength to drive through tackles. So, he's been replaced.

He was behind Conner, Ollison, Hall, Whitehead, and maybe Ibrahim on the depth chart looking at 2016, and that isn't counting any newcomers like Hill and Moss.

It was a good decision for him to reunite with the coaches that recruited him.

Good for Chris James and may he do great at Wisky, especially when they play Penn State in next few years!

May I paraphrase a quote...."Pitt Running Backs Rule By Punishing Other Teams Defenders And "SWIFT" To Reward Touchdowns For Pitt Teams.”

My impression is that Chris was a very, very good high school back, who doesn't really have what it takes at the major college level to excel. He's certainly not a power back. He's straight line fast, but never demonstrated the ability to make people miss. At this level of play, you're not going to simply outrun people.

Good luck to him at Wisconsin, but I will be very surprised if he does more then become a solid #2 or #3 sub.

Cruzer

I think the OP summed it up, no personal problem or issues that any Pitt fans saw, he just didnt win playing time, and we have some really good backs that showed better in games.

He was adequate, and I sure if he was all we had here, would be a 1000 yard rusher and done well for himself. I wish him well!

I remember James as being a freakish workout kid. He should do well at Wisky - he's the straight-line type of back that Coach Chryst seems to like, versus backs with some wiggle.

I imagine James will be running behind a decent offensive line at Wisky.

Go Pitt.
