Chris Jones appreciation thread.

He can be frustrating at times, but I he's definitely a good player. Has to the chance to have a nice senior year.

Chris Jones had a great game against Davidson.

It was a good game. But he's has shown this before. I am not surprised.

Really rounding into a complete player.
Hounding defense , developing a game off the bounce.

Not bad for a guy many hate.

Jones has a lot of things going for him and has the potential to be not just a good player at this level, but a VERY good one. Like so many guys that have similar attributes, what will be the determining factor in how good he ultimately will be is that elusive thing that has foiled so many others: consistency. If he can play like he did today - against even better, stronger and more athletic opponents - he can be a great asset. He is certainly capable; we've seen that.

Can he do it over and over? If he can, he can help this Pitt team to maybe be something pretty special.

Good comments on Jones. Jones last year occasionally put up some good numbers, and even played decent D
ONCE in awhile. The problem was he had to do it often as a starter and that IMO was beyond his reach.
Coming off the bench he's looking real good, if he screws up Jamie has a replacement for him. He still
makes a few mistakes (took one terrible shot) near end of first half today but by and large was good. A 6'6''
outside shooter who can take it to the hole and create, while coming off the bench speaks to our depth.
I'd say the same about Jeter....coming off the bench with his size, athleticism. and ability to score is another
big asset. Again, if he screws up, Jamie has options. Jeter's D......UGGHH!

I don't think there was ever "hate" but doubt. He, like Antonio Graves has proven himself on this level and has gotten better and better. I was wrong, I thought he would never amount to a bit player.
