In his first road game as a starter, I thought he played pretty well.

1- Completed 62.2% of his pass attempts. There were definitely a few bad throws, but overall, I thought he did a nice job.
2- Threw two TD passes.
3- Protected the ball. 0 interceptions.
4- Threw for (slightly) over 300 yards.

Had you told me before kickoff that he would play this well, and Pitt would still lose, I would have been surprised. I think the refs definitely stole the game on the slide. It was basically a judgement call, and they spotted the ball 6 inches short of the first down. Of course there was no review.

That said, I do think we may have found our new QB, notwithstanding the loss. I think CV is going to continue to improve, and is already developing a nice rapport with Means, Mumfield, Reynolds, and Johnson in just his second game as a starter. (I still cannot imagine why we don't throw it to Gavin Bartholomew more though.)

Anyway, I understand everyone is rightfully pissed about the outcome of the game, but really, this is a significant bright spot that we shouldn't overlook moving forward.
