Chryst out recruited Franklin for top PA player

For those without the Athletic, his parents were both PSU grads (and a former player) with season tickets. So not just us whiffing on legacies.

I don’t know if there’s an issue there or not. But maybe the kid wants to carve his own path and good for him.

No children here but I’d want my kids to make their own decisions. I wouldn’t want them going to a school just because I did. I might try to discourage PSU or maybe even WVU - I’m not perfect😂😂. Might also steer them away from aholes like Petrino. Can’t imagine welcoming him into my home.

Because why would anyone want to go to PSU? Child rape enablers and James Franklose is a terrible coach. He's proven it time and time again

If I was an offensive lineman Wisconsin would be a dream destination. You get to line up and run block most of the time and they have a reputation for developing quality NFL prospects up front. Plus, some kids want to get away.

Chryst and Wisconsin put a lot of O lineman in the NFL. Do you think this had anything to do with his decision?

If I'm a lineman with dreams of playing in the NFL, Wisconsin is absolutely near the top of my list of schools. Now if I was a linebacker, Penn State is up there. Defensive back? I'm looking at LSU or OSU. For the life of me, I'll never figure out why Pitt is never better for the quality talent they put in the NFL. Over this generation they've had elite talent with Fitzgerald, Donald, Revis, McCoy, and Lee along with a solid lineup of productive players (Boyd, Conner, Maddox, O'Neill, etc.).

Stanford is the top of my list regardless of position

Not enough 4 & 5 Star Rated Recruits across all Positions most Years. Also, Mediocre Coaching(or worse in some Years). But even the Great Coaches who win National Titles or now make the 4 Teams College Playoffs, get the Best Players(Top 10 Classes) in most cases.

The PITT Defensive Talent the past 2 years has been impressive though, as I assume most of these Players were 3 Star Recruits. Could have been a Top 5 Defense this Year before losing Twyman as an Op Out(understandable as a likely 1st Round Pick in the 2021 Draft) and losing a CB(Mathias-Spelling?) to a Season Ending Injury. But like most Years, even when PITT is Strong at several Positions, they are not as good in others(as not sure if the O-Line across all 5 Players and Quality Depth with Potential Injuries will be the weak link on this Year's Team, as it hurt the Running Game last year, and the chance to beat the Fighting Paterknews & The CULT in Creepy Valley, as the PITT Defense played a Great Game worthy of getting the Win-IMO).

Actually, there was an article in the past few weeks either on ESPN or CBSSports Website(forget which one) that ranked College Football Schools by Positions that I think went back to 1998 until now, and The CULT was not even listed in the Top Schools for LBs. Think the Top 10 Schools were listed. They did get a mention for the D-Linemen Position(think in the lower part of the Top 10). Or the List might have been 5 Schools with a few Honorable Mentions outside of the Top 5-IIRC.

As far as The CULT being Linebacker U, that Title no longer applies as was long ago(1970s/1980s) when their DC was starting his Pedophile Activities that were ok apparently, since he was a Good DC that helped them win 2 National Titles(did Creepy Valley ever relinquish those 2 National Titles since they were only won thanks to Uncle Jerry?).

Haha they can only hang on to LB U if they acknowledge Uncle Jerry as the architect!

To show you how all over the place some of these rankings are, and this year is probably worse, Rucci is considered the second best player in PA on Rivals. SI doesn't have him in their top 10 players in PA.

Because you have to play the game with at least 22 players. One or two elite level players on a team full of middling talent won't move the needle much. Team talent level is critical.
