By my count, including the 20 current recruits from the 2019 class, Pitt has 87 scholarship kids on the roster for next season, which means two kids will already have to depart the program to get us down to 85.

Additionally, we gave out 23 initial scholarships last year (18 high school recruits, two JUCOs, two grad transfers, and one transfer), meaning we should have the ability to count two back to 2018 from the 2019 class, allowing us to sign 27 this year if we wanted.

So where does that leave the remainder of the 2019 class? Getting seven more commits seems unreasonable to me given what we'd need to happen to the current roster to accommodate it, although a Brandon Mack and/or Bryce Nelms leaving the class could factor in as well. Something like four more commits seems more reasonable to me, but we seem to want a tight end, at least one offensive linemen, a corner, and a safety, plus are in on guys like Damarius Good and (possibly) Brian Ugwu.

@Chris Peak or @JimHammett, thoughts on how this shakes out?
