I think it would be better for Clemson and the ACC if CLemson would seek permission to join the SEC.They would be playing competitive teams in football before 70 or 80,000 each Saturday on away games. It would also be better for the ACC to have a competitive program in football and not just conceding the conference championship to Clemson each year.

You mean concede the championship like the B1G does to tOSU every year? Using your criteria, tOSU should make the move first. Because they have been even more dominating in the B1G. The only other B1G team to make the CFP was MSU. 1 year. The ACC has had 2 teams win NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS in the CFP era. You just make a fool of yourself with agenda driven nonsense like your post.

College football conferences move in cycles.
The SEC is more constant the others are more fluid.

I can promise the naysayers the ACC will be back to challenge the best!

They are certainly a better fit, and they have more natural rivals in the SEC. That isn't going to happen though.

The rest of the ACC needs to put some emphasis on football and raise their level of play.
Nitters are Cray Cray

Yeah, maybe actually.... Clemson should join a conference with OSU, Michigan, Alabama, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma and throw in Notre Dame.

UPS should join the Sun Belt conference and then Franklin could possibly win every Super Bowl game.

Hahaha - someone's been eating too many Christmas cookies and have lost their mind. Pushing away from the table is good idea.

This is the correct answer. FSU should be challenging Clemson for the division title every year. Miami and Virginia Tech should be ranked teams in the Coastal. Every couple of years a North Carolina or Pitt or Louisville should also be in that conversation.

That would not be unlike OSU, Michigan, Penn State and Wisconsin carrying the Big Ten.

One of the dumbest posts I have ever read on this board.

And I've been here more than 15 years.

I have to ask.... what pleasure does a PSU fan get in creating a fake account to come to Pitt's site to post nonsense like this?

How small does your brain have to be to enjoy this kind of thing?

Might be a small brain and something else that is small..

Clemson beat NC by 1.
Clemson beat OSU by 6
Thus, NC better than OSU
This, ACC better than B10

Pitt beat NC by 7. Therefore Pitt>OSU by 12. Pitt would be favored by 3 over LSU.

Pitt consensus National Champions!

OP is nuts!

Considering that just last year, they were only able to beat Appalachian State, a Sun Belt team, in OT--at home--games in that conference might feel like the Super Bowl to him.

You do know that these things go in cycles, right? Pitt had a run like this. Miami had a long run like this. FSU also. It's up to the other teams to compete. Not throw out Clemson for being too good.

Besides that, national championships are good for the league overall.

This is true, and this would be mildly amusing if they didn’t come into Pittsburgh 7 days later and give us one of the worst beatdowns I’ve ever seen in my lifetime.

Still not sure why our members don’t see how stupid we look when we try to trash a team that is light years ahead of us.

Nope. Not JRipper. Just a casual Pitt fan that DOESN’T have PSU envy. Believe it or not, there’s lots of us, and we are constantly rolling our eyes at our fellow members who just can’t seem to get over their Nitter obsession.

Not pointing any fingers at you, btw! Just speaking generally.

The point is that saying a school belongs in a certain conference based on competition/competitiveness and that factor alone and doesn't reflect reality and making any arguments along those lines is silly. In an ideal world maybe that would be true, but reality is that money is far and away factor #1. Clemson would leave for the SEC if its financial standing could be signifcantly better there, but I don't see it. Clemson has plenty of boosters that support the program, first class facilities, etc. and switching to the SEC isn't going to make much difference. Plus the Clemson doesn't really add any new TV markets from the SEC's perspective. They already have USC.
