Similar situation to the one we are in. There are a lot of examples of buyouts being negotiated to a lower amount, but thought this was interesting.

Good find. OKST paid $3.9 million to buyouy a contract with a guaranteed $7 million left on it.

Ford, though, is still a young coach who knew he had some decent options out there and the SLU gig in the A10 isnt bad so he knew he could recoup that money and would be more willing to negotiate. Stallings major college career would be over if we fire him and may be less likely to settle.

If Pitt fires him, I'd expect us to offer him about half of what he's owed and he would decline and sue us, which would be settled out of court
