The NCAA is looking at the Names, Images, Likeness thing again. This is too much money to leave on the table. I would expect the NCAA to allow EA to use player names and Nike to sell player jerseys with the proceeds going to some benefit fund which is paid out EQUITABLY upon graduation. Meaning the 3rd string Center and the Heisman winner both get the same amount. Paying different amounts gets too hairy.

Havent played a playstation in years but would again if this happens.
That game was great.

I used to love that game. i'd name the players too, it would take me like 3 hours. in one of the games you could change the ratings of your players so I, striving for realism, would give the pitt players the ratings I felt they deserved. Palko was a 99, as was most other players on my team..

Think there is a long way to go before this becomes a possibility, but probably once a year I dust off my Playstation and boot up NCAA football or College Hoops 2k8.

That is something to look forward to this season.
No white pants .
Figures. Pitt now has script and good colors but no damn game to play in them with.
Was fun playing against people from all over the country and all the different styles of play.
Game has to come back sooner or later in some fashion.
Probably will be at least another 3 years but keeping hope .

white pants with a stripe never bothered me. I am not gonna cry that they are gone but the stripe made them tolerable. all white, all gold, pants are awful.

The game would be an easy thing to return, the big thing now will need be to get the NCAA license back that way all schools are forced to participate under NCAA. The roster is simple totally generic random boxed rosters. But is they can't the NCAA license back then it would be up to EA or whoever to get license from each individual school, conference etc. Which would not happen. I'd say compensate for likeness with some sort of gifts they aren't going to pay players obviously but if you can gift players at bowl games, the NCAA itself could gift the players something as compensation for likeness instead of money. Player then can wait till they graduate and sell gift if they want. At this point honestly I don't think it will take much to persuade players to be agree as I feel a lot of players at this point just want the game back as lot these kids now in college are the ones really missing the game as they never been in a game themselves. Fingers crossed. Maybe for the release of the new PS5?

The big question in my mind is whether or not you get to put Pitt in an on campus stadium and if you can customize your uniforms so you never have to wear white pants.
Yes, there was a feature called TeamBuilder where you could go online, create a team with authentic uniforms and logos, create your own stadium and players, and then upload it into the game.

I’d do this and then create a Big East confidence with us, WVU, PSU, and so on. Was a lot of fun.

I just hope that they give 2K sports a chance to make the game. Their football game from 2008 is still light-years ahead of anything EA has come out with since. EA football games are horrible, Madden is the same garbage every year.

I dont remember how long EA bought the exclusive rights for. That was a sad, sad, day for me when that happened.

In this interim time, I don't know why EA didn't just make a college game with the real stadiums, uniforms, conferences, bowls, etc but just make the players totally random. Like say all RBs are #34. All QBs are #11, etc. But with the team builder option, thousands of online nerds would make all the players anyway and you could just download theirs and there's no way you could use EA for that

Just out of curiosity, why do you say it’s bad now? I used to love it but haven’t played in a long time.

Shortly after the previous generation of consoles came out (PS 3, Xbox 360) nothing new or exciting has been added. The gameplay, franchise options and major attractions within it are rarely updated year to year. During each annual release the developers seem to change the rosters and graphics a little bit but that’s about all. I used to love it too but than it became stagnant. It’s a shame because it used to be a lot of fun.

Super Tecmo Bowl. Rosters were accurate as of August 16, 1993. This isn’t the Bo Jackson one. This is the second edition of the game. Still a fav of me and my 35+ old pals.

I remember some guy on a video game forum made fairly accurate rosters for all NCAA teams. So you could download them and then you'd have Derek Kinder instead of #81. The rosters also added a lot of missing players that EA overlooked. Getting those made the game so much better.

Honestly, the last good Madden they made was the Madden 07, and that was on the PlayStation 2!
im on record here as saying that hockey videos games peaked at NHL '94 on sega. literally was the best and every version on every console has been worse than that one..

They still do. When I boot the game up every year it only take a minute to find and download a roster file from that year...except in the college basketball game recently.

You mean you're playing the old PS2 game with current rosters?

Both excellent games.

Agreed. I think that it is cool to have Tom Savage as Pitt's QB. But my favorite part of NCAA Football is the Dynasty Mode. That Pitt roster, as is, gets its teeth kicked in playing the ACC on NCAA 2013. But I like building out the roster and tailoring the playbook to get them "in the BCS".
