I wasn’t able to make the spring game, my wife booked us in Sedona. Reading the recaps there was a lot of conjecture about drafting/mixing OL lineups vs 1’s vs 2’s.
I recognize the logic and submit that the drafting may give us a better understanding/impression of our actual position groups.
Reasons;
1) The lines have been mixed up all spring long.
2) It doesn’t change your assignment.
3) The other positions are also mixed so it’s not a unique advantage/disadvantage situation.
4) It answers the questions about “why don’t we play this guy, he was highly touted coming in.”
HCPN has recruited better on the DL than the OL and we had a poor OL coach for 3 seasons. Just my opinion, the OL looked that way because they’re green and at an overall disadvantage based on talent. Also, no Jimmy.
Lots of work for all over the summer. Know that you saw kids competing to the best of their ability yesterday and gauge performance expectations on the most recent example they provide.
