Independents 2-0
ACC: 4-1
Sun Belt: 4-1
B12: 2-1
C-USA: 4-3
MWC: 3-3
B1G: 2-2
P12: 1-1
SEC: 1-2
AAC: 1-5
MAC: 0-5

Without Pitt's loss, the early narrative would be the ACC dominating the opposition and the B1G and SEC combined 2-5.

Certainly sounds like the ACC and the Sun Belt are replacing the SEC and B1G as the big leagues in CFB. No doubt about it
Well based on the rankings and respect given to the Big 10 all year they should win every remaining bowl game. Let's see how it plays out.

The Big Ten was never a big league when it came to bowls. Always average or below...

Last 10 Years:
2015-16: 5-5
2014-15: 6-5
2013-14: 2-5 LOL
2012-13: 2-5 LOL
2011-12: 4-6
2010-11: 3-5
2009-10: 4-3
2008-09: 1-6 What a Great Year!!!!
2007-08: 3-5
2006-07: 2-5 LOL

Total: 32-50

No where near the big leagues.......

BIG clearly over rated. Maryland going down and 6-6 Indiana getting beat in the final minute by a top 20 8-4 Utah team.

Well the Big 10 was only highly rated by big 10 fans. The computers had them 4th best, conference.

Pretty much the ACC or the old big east always did very well in bowl games, and the Bog 10 has been awful in bowl games. But the fact that they have the largest undergrad enrollment, they will always be overrated.

Losing this game steps on any progress or high ground we as Pitt fans have going into the Spring & Summer. We cannot continue to rag on the Big 10, we drop out of the Top 25, the way we played was depressing & uninspired.
We all know deep down the ACC was by far the better conference than the Big10 & every bit as good as any conference out there yet we as Pitt let down when we needed to step up biggest.
All year long we were good w/ the ball, very few flubs, missed handoffs, unforced errors, etc. yet we looked so unorganized in this game. These kids were not as sharp & that comes from the OC being out the door yet still thinking he could half ass it.
The seniors did not come out hungry they almost seemed like they expected to win by just showing up. While we are the better football team this is yet another example of what Saban stresses at Bama, you take no opponent, ever for granted, you come out hungry & want to plant your opponent into the ground on each & every play.
We just cannot seem to keep that hunger, chip on the shoulder, fear of losing to the point where we are always on point for each time we go into a game.
And if everyone in the program is not on the same page this is what happens...in hindsite Coach Duzz should have told Matt we will not need your services for the Bowl game.
I've said it before & I'll say it again...Coach Saban's greatest strength is not his players talent(although it is good) it is his ability that everyone in his program from the equipment manager, to strength coach to Asst, coaches on down the line fear him if they do not carry intensity on each & every thing they do.... old players from Pitt who I know say Jackie instilled the same thing back in the day at Pitt. Even the star players like Marino, Green, Covert, Meisner, whoever walked on eggshells when Jackie was present & even when he was not around, where football was concerned.
When Foge took over that intensity & fear that made them on edge & hungry disappeared & fun & games replaced it & then far less standards were the achieved because the players no longer carried that edge & intensity.
When a team, coach or individual player loses focus then things become sloppy & then gametime becomes sloppy.
Our offense was clearly out of focus against NW.

H2 PITT !!!

Sure we can, we beat the big 10 champions this year, while they were healthy. If you want to lament over a 7 point loss when 10 of our starters from this year were out most the game, so be it. We loss, but at worse we were 1-1 against the big 10 with a win over their champion. If we beat Alabama but lost to Georgia, I would be saying the same about the SEC, who is regarded as the best conference.

The ACC is not undefeated because of Pitt but let's talk smack on everyone else.

You make a good point. But I am more concerned w/ our program getting past these episodes & learning to consistently come out in every game on edge ready to play like the game means a championship regardless of opponent. We have got to instill this to the point we learn to win games despite our letdowns. That game was winnable regardless how bad we played & we need to find ways to win those games. That is taking a program to the next step.
We were flat & uninspired once a few things did not go our way...we need to be pissed & have the ability to transfer that energy into taking a game back into control.
But yesterday we had a coach who was already out the door & it showed by our preparation & then play.

Posting during a college game...especially in the first half...is kind of stupid, don't you think?

Have you forgotten how bad Wisconsin was beating down your Fightin' Peds during the first half of your last game?

Is your life really that bad that you hang out on a Pitt site? I mean, not being a fan and all? But maybe some counseling is in order.
I can honestly say I've never had one thought of going to a teams forum and trolling them.
Wish you all the best.

Maybe we should wait until all the bowls are played before thumping the ACC chest.. Va Tech getting their ass handed to rhem
Maybe you should wait until the game is over before thumping your chest about this particular game?

Wasn't Wisconsin up 31-7 or something like that over you Peds at this point in the B1G championship?

True - and Pitt also looked like world beaters against us in the first half...VA Tech is not very talented - highly doubt that they'll come back to make it a game

Or how our fans were posting about 40pt win over NW. We will Crush them.. Hmm.. How did that play out

you seem to know what the score was.. I'm not a Ped fan. Not thumping anything

And now we see VT starting to make a push.

Too many people make conclusions about a college game while still in the first half.

College games are subject to volatile momentum changes... you can't write off any game while still in the first half, no matter the score.

It makes you look stupid more often than not.

Yeah, I love idiots who post before the game is even close to being over. Just shows how dumb they really are.

Meanwhile another PoSU fan showing how dumb he is. Va Tech may not win this game, but posting something to show up someone when the game is far from over, special kind of dumb.

Hey big shot. What was that you were saying? I noticed that you have disappeared from the board. You must have gone off to the Lasch Building for some horseplay!

Good point - however, I'd offer that same question to everyone posting here
I love when trolls are made to look stupid.

24-21... and still in the 3rd quarter.

I'm getting a kick out of this whole evening - I'm glad I visited the Pitt board today and poked the squirrel

Lol the only thing that got poked was PED State. 42-39 . Now back to your basement, the meatloaf isn't done yet.

And you may want to steer away from the verb "poke" with Sandusky's sick PED State history. Probably not the best wording...

Thanks for clearing that up!!! Big Ten is more overrated than I originally thought.

It's always appropriate to call out the Big Ten! Pitt being good or bad is irrelevant to the discussion. Big 10 being overrated stands on its own.

The thread is conference related Jakey. Then the trolls did their thing to pivot over to Pitt sucks so there should be no discussion about the Big 10 or the SEC are having a underachieving effort. The Big Ten is overrated, the SEC is definitely overrated and the PAC 12 sucks. Whether Pitt is good or not is for another thread. I'm not much into conference pride but it was nice watching VT whack the piglets in the 2nd half. There's something about their that sucks.
