Consol fans please root against Butler!!!

Why? Because we were dumb enough to foul with 1 sec left 95 feet away? Or because we choked on the free throw line?

Meh - I have no problem with them; Stevens was a great coach. However, I might just flop in the concourse in honor of them.

Because the ref was dumb enough to call a foul in that situation. The contact on that play had zero effect on the game - other than it being called a foul. I don't dislike Butler, just the call.

He fouled him twice. Once on the rebound, and then again when he tried to heave the shot. By your logic, they should never have called the foul that sent Brown to the line.

Yeah, that's my issue with them. Even if the coach and all the players are gone now.
It may have been bad karma, but I said it here (and even told a Butler grad I work with) that I hope the main flopper (forgot his name) breaks his tailbone doing that garbage one of these days.

The particularly maddening thing about it this that the refs knew he was doing it. Remember the phantom elbowing call, that the refs reviewed to determine intent, only to see that the Pitt player missed him by a foot? They saw it and still fell for his act.

Actually I lead far from an empty life, but I do reserve hatred for certain Pitt Hoops events such as the BS night at the Verizon Center watching us blow a game against a team we shouldn't have lost to. Yeah I know I shouldn't hate Butler but quite frankly I don't care. I also have a hatred for Scotty Effin Reynolds as well.

Sorry if i don't match up to your Dali Lama-esque life.

But quite frankly if you want to pin one tag on where the Program started to decline that night is probably the most precise place to start.

Gilbert Brown was a part of two of the more heart wrenching losses in this program's history. Right up there with Goheen is the Reynolds hitting the floater over Gil Brown, and Gil missing the second free throw that led to Nas' foul. Just make the d*mn free throw, Gil, you were an 80% shooter from the line.

The difference is that Brown was running down the court towards the basket and had an opportunity to put up a shot from near half court. The Butler guy was standing a few feet from Pitt's basket with no opportunity to do anything - he was not even facing Butler's basket.
