Vader, do you think Kante can play the 4 at all? I seem to recall some discussion about that. A lot of posters don't think GDG can play there. But having Corhen, Kante and GDG for one position does not seem ideal. Something has to give.
Interesting insights on Corhen here, btw.

I think all 3 of them can play some 4 depending on matchups, although Kante would be the best bet from a pure defensive and rebounding perspective. With Kante you can switch everything on defense on the backline between the 4 and 5 as he is good enough and quick enough to cover, he has good positioning, foot movement, can play the hedge well, good recovery, strong on the glass etc... He is being severely underrated for what he brings to the table on defense and rebounding on this board and he has a massive 7'5 wingspan to work with. Kante has some ability to knock down midrange and 3 point shots, but sometimes he gets too shot happy with these looks. He's better scoring in the interior. However, we likely need him most at the 5 because of his rebounding ability.
With Guillermo, you have a 7 footer shooting 3s at 40%, and a lot of teams are undersized at the 4 already. He would give us a lot of length on the floor. You could maybe go zone with him, again, depending on matchups. I like his passing ability in a 4 role.
With Cohren, you have a guy that is 6'10 that can attack the midrange and make midrange shots at a pretty high level. He made 32 of them last year at 46% shooting in a reserved role. As a freshmen he made 29 of them at 47%. Thats 2 years worth of data for an underclassmen big consistently knocking down midrange to deep midrange jumpers. This guy can stretch the defense out away from the basket which can free up more space with more dribble penetration for players like Lowe and Leggett to attack downhill to the basket. He's a good finisher and I think he needs more opportunity next year and beyond given to score the ball, because I think he is considerably better on offense than a 9 points per game player.
All 3 of these guys have far more ability and flexibility to get some run at the 4 as opposed to someone like Fede who has zero offensive game outside of the dunker position and couldnt guard anyone from the midrange out to 3 because his court awareness is weak and he is to slow. Fede had enough trouble catching the ball let alone scoring on someone 1 on 1.
We have flexibility here which is a good thing. We also should have legit 3 point firepower coming from the backcourt with Cummings, Lowe, and Leggett, which should really help our offensive spacing ability. And when you have spacing it makes everything easier, especially in the interior.
