Since we are so weak at LB, could we move a couple DE's to outside linebacker and become a stronger defense with a 3-4? We do seem to have a couple guys that could be considered tweeners between LB and DE. Kind of random thought, but getting Cam Carter and possible getting a silent verbal from another huge defensive lineman made think of this. I may be completely off base, feel free to tell me so. haha.

If you are weak at linebacker, then why would you want to shift to a defense that requires an extra linebacker on the field. Simply moving a DE to OLB isn't the answer. There is a different set of responsibilities, including coverage that makes it difficult for a DE to simply change positions.

HCPN is NOT switching his defense.

A 3-4 defense could absolutely work. Teams do it all over the country all the time.

However, this particular head coach has made his bones by playing a 4-3 for decades now and there is literally a 0.0% chance that he's going to change it now.

Going to a 3-4 requires bigger LBs and faster lineman, people doesn't have that,it would take another 3-4 years before we wouldn't even start to see results is moving to a 3-4,which we are not

Narduzzi will switch to a 3-4 when Bob Knight switches from man to zone.
