This is one of the more bizarre stories in recent ACC memory. Miami might have the 3rd highest player payroll behind Duke and UNC and were picked 3rd by some publications. Granted, Nigel Pack has been hurt most of the year but there is talent on that team. They lost their last 2 games by a combined 78 points and are down 20 in the 1st Half at Stanford. This might very well be the most underachieving team of all time. And Kevin Stallings may get some company.

These type of seasons aren't that uncommon in college basketball. Small rosters, unexpected turnovers or injury and things can spiral downward in a hurry.

Speaking of underahieving, Cal finally got his guys to embrace the hog & Arkansas broke into the conference win column tonight.

Arkansas and Miami are probably the 2 most underachieving teams. You can at least say Arky is playing in a crazy good league. Even without Pack, Miami still has one of the highest payrolls, and are having a hard time losing by less than 40 against mediocre teams. Its not just the losing, it's how Miami is losing.

Stanford up to 71 in NET giving us a Q2 win. Not sure you should move up 9 spots for blowing out Miami but whatevs. Miami down to 245, doing their best Kenny Payne impression.

My opinion is the team totally quit after Larranaga resigned.

They’ll probably beat us and destroy our NET

Quite honestly, the home game vs Miami is the biggest game of the year if we are in NCAAT contention then. That Q4 loss probably eliminates us unless we have some great ACC record. I think if you told me that I could guarantee any win the rest of the year, I'd pick Miami. Absolutely cannot afford a loss there. And the thing is, they have talent. Lynn Kidd is a dog at the 5. Matthew Cleveland beat us in 2023 at FSU. Freshman Jalil Bethea is a 5 star. Jalen Blackmon was one of the best portal gets. Very talented but cant win a game.

They'll probably be favored to win at least a couple games the rest of the season. Maybe Virginia at home, maybe Syracuse at home, probably Virginia Tech at home.

Pomeroy puts their chances at 0-20 at 2.2%.

Yea, not gonna happen but I can't believe this is even a possibility. Even without Pack, they have 3 guys making serious money.
