Without the extra year of eligibility for players does Pitt Football win the ACC or does Pitt make NCAA tourney?

COVID ended up killing Pitt sports for the long term with a giant smoke screen and unwarranted extensions.

And? Let’s be mediocre and fire coaches and remain mediocre, rather than at least have some success. Capel ok, fire him. Will Pitt ever sniff another ACc title in football, likely not. Basketball has more chances to get some bids. But the grass isn’t always greener. Yes a new coach will always bring immediate optimism, but unless NIL increases, we will have same results.

This is one of the problems. Its like Pitt think the same way fans do. Acting like Pitt is some deprived school with the inability to come up with money to get players or pay for good coaches. Look at the salaries of the coaches for the 2 main sports. Are you people actually saying Pitt is paying them on the cheap and cant get someone better? No the problem is simply awarding them because like the fans, they was afraid of losing them. Each coach has had 1 really good season.

If Indiana, SMU, TCU, BYU, Utah, Boise State, Illinois, Miss State, Ole Miss, (Wake, NCS, Virginia, Marquette, Clemson, Baylor etc in basketball), can do it, so can Pitt. Hire the right damn coach for once.

They did offer money for Hurley. More money than UConn. That is a fact. And it’s not fear of losing them. If you don’t reward success, no coach will want to come here and not be rewarded for winning.

If we constantly reward mediocrity (and have rewarded success when it occurs), why would anyone think they wouldn't be rewarded for being successful?
