I was there... great showing. I would say our biggest crowd against a small opponent that I ever saw.

It had to be over 50 k. I got tickets in the upper deck and our section was more packed than I ever thought

Nothing better than the nitters bagging on our attendance on a day that they had tens (that's plural) of thousands of empty seats.

In case anyone wondered it seems pretty obvious that Steve Pederson is currently in charge of making up the nitter attendance numbers, and he inflates them every bit as much as he did when he was here.

I took a walk during halftime and the first ten minutes of the 3rd quarter. Great Hall, PACKED. The club I sit in, absolutely wall to freaking wall PACKED. People avoiding the sun sitting in the new "wine bar" and "picnic area" PACKED. I was a little shocked actually, but I'm telling you there were probably a good 10K seeking shelter or like at a Pirates game not even giving one **** about it just sitting in a bar and drinking.

So I think the attendance number was legit. And for us, 50K plus at the opener when it's 80 degrees and perfect and the opponent is Villanova, that's pretty damn good.

Next week, it's going to be 70,000 plus - in seats - and loud. It's going to be 2003 vs. VT on steroids.
