Crowd was 70-75% Pitt, by the way.

The upper deck end zone is where almost all of the visiting team's allotment of 3000 tickets is. So yeah, of course there were a lot of nitters there.

I think even 70-30 is way over estimating the number of nitters there.

It was only half of the upper end zone with nitters. The rest of that section was overflow students and Pitt fans. I sit on the visitors side in the lower bowl, and it was predominantly Pitt fans in the lower bowl with a smattering of PSU fans. Maybe the upper deck had some PSU fans, I couldn't see it. I'd have to say it was maybe 80/20 Pitt, max 15,000 PSU fans. No more than that. It's about the same as when WVU used to come to Heinz Field. They blow it out their asses about how they'll dominate the place, then they bring maybe 10,000 - 15,000 fans, if that.

Well you're the last person to be estimating the size of a particular crowd. You're the same guy who said Blewitt's 50 yard FG kick was very close.

I was in the South Club and had a great view of the kick. It was about a foot, or slightly more, to the left of the upright (right of the kicker). And, it was far enough. So, if you think that wasn't close enough, then so be it. Pitt Poker, why the constant negativism (also before the game), if you are a Pitt fan? Enjoy the win, and look forward to next week.

Exactly. Nitters had a nice showing on the visitors side and had the upper bleachers and high home end corner, but anyone saying 50-50 or 60-40 is a tool. At best it was 20000 psu which is a nice showing, but I would say around 15000. A little more than a typical notre Dame game
Exactly what I was thinking. Although ND has in some years brought a good bit more fans than PSU had yesterday. Also WVU a couple of years not sure how many of them they were, but the level of noise they made would've put the nitters there yesterday to shame. Good bit of Penn Staters yesterday, but wow did they talk a much bigger game than they brought.

Anybody that says different is lying.
The math doesn't make sense for it to be any more then that. It was exactly what should have been expected.

Assume 70K fans. 20 k are students. Those are all Pitt fans. Leaves 50K. PSU would need half of the remaining tickets to even get to 25k. They obviously are not going to approach that. More like maybe 15 of the remaining 50k at best.

I will say this - from my seat, the folks in the section on the eastern end of the North Endzone -- Section 518 -- looked liked they had expected to be attending a KKK rally... o_O
