This team certainly isn't overly talented, but it does have a number of players who could be "PITT" players. Pitt has had very few freshman come in and be Big East or ACC ready players. There have been a few, Blair and Knight come to mind. Pitt's bread and butter has been player development. I remember seeing Chevy as a frosh and thinking "I like this kid's grit, but he doesn't have the body for the B East". Aaron Gray looked very out of place early on, as did many of Pitt's young players who ended up being pretty good. Heck, there were many who thought Ryan Luther should move on after his first 2 years. Some of these (and other) players were asked to come in and occasionally fill a gap on veteran teams. They were not asked to come and be the team as freshman. Who remembers Krauser as a freshman? Going at 100 MPH, he was a turnover machine in limited minutes. Could you imagine if he were asked to run the team for 30 minutes a night?

My point is that I saw enough flashes out of Carr, Stevenson, Stewart and Brown that I think they MAY turn out to be serviceable (or even good) players with proper tutelage. One thing I didn't see in any of these 4 was quit. No sulking. Given the difficult circumstances, they kept their heads up and played hard. Whatever direction the program takes, I hope these 4 are a part of it.
