It sucks Pitt has ducked early conference tournaments .
And refused to schedule a highly ranked opponent .

They only duck the ESPN tournaments (Puerto Rico, Charleston, Orlando, Fullerton). I dont think they like the 8 team 3 game setup because its 3 competitive games instead of the 2 they normally play.
They did play in an 8 teamer last year in Maui but that's the only one in the Dixon era. You dont say no to Maui.
Well, it should have been a serious point. Good teams playing each other every day and Pitt's sucked the excitement out of their program by, among other things, playing primarily rinky dinks in the OOC season for a number of consecutive years. If you don't believe that, go to a game, it's a morgue. The demand for tickets is at a 10 year low. Dixon should show a little confidence in himself and play some teams with a pulse. He and Pedersen together have managed to dampen the excitement which was once Pitt hoops. Hopefully Barnes drags Dixon out of his comfort zone.

There are some fans who watch the "good games" on TV and they make they assumption that all teams play nothing but these good games and it's only Pitt who plays bad games.
A look at any of Syracuse's schedules would make this point.

Our pre OOC schedule has been complete garbage for years. Quit overgeneralizing. If you want to be considered a "big boy", then play them instead of hiding behind all these stupid stats. You want to know why Pitt's getting no respect in the polls, well one of the reasons is they don't have the confidence to cross swords with the big boys. As you're at the game today and it feels like you're sitting in the Carnegie museum, think about why that's the case!

San Diego St. Was legit and ranked but a not so good Pitt team took DOWN Kansas St. Very easily and they weren't that good. K-st was - Top 100 team, maybe top 80.
We really did play incredibly weak schedules at the beginning of Dixon's tenure. If you really think our schedule is still full of more creampuffs than any other given team, I don't know what you're looking at. There are very few teams that outside of preseason tourneys play more than 2 or 3 good teams OOC.

Pitt needs to do a better job of getting organizers to improve the field in our tournaments and our matchups.
Need to hire some chemists who know how to move pills from big bottles to little ones. They know a little of everything and not much about anything.

Not true. Definitely a fan of Pitt sports. I enjoy seeing them do well. I don't care for college athletics though. I think the product is terrible and I don't watch any beyond Pitt. I also have serious issues with how college sports are organized, so if it were up to me Pitt wouldn't be involved.
But please, continue misrepresenting my point.
I like Nordy because I realize that athletics is but a small part of a University's mission.
