Dantonio didnt want to stop coaching at MSU. Athletic Department and Big Boosters wanted to go a different direction. This past season for the first time in a while Spartan Stadium became pretty empty also.
This is not a back to the future situation in my opinion. Dantonio and Narduzzi are very close, have the same attitude mostly, both very stubborn, do not like to adapt or change.
Add in Narduzzi is not a fresh face of name as a head coach candidate and has seemingly plateaued.
MSU I think would want to look for a different coach and style to build excitement into the program. MSU fans aren't thrilled with a Narduzzi hire and I live 10 minutes from campus and I would say that would be a consensus opinion.
