Daye

Arkansas would be the easy choice if it didn't require living in Arkansas.

There’s ALWAYS something. LOL!!!

Would think current roster make up, especially in light of this past year being a free eligibility one, would also have an impact. No idea how things may stack up comparing those 4 programs in that regard?

Pitt is a school that should be able to recruit top 20 classes, they are failed by an AD, a coach and a fan base that sells out their own school to make excuses for a crappy coach

I think Daye would be a solid pickup but not a star or even starter. He'd shore up our back court with a solid player.

Pitt is not going to land elite transfers like uva did last year with hauser. Finding good talent early on is valuable. Let's us focus on finding size too.

If Arkansas really has a spot for him, he'll go there. Remember what I used to say? You simply dont beat the SEC for recruits

There’s really good stuff on the pay board. I had my ???? as well, but there’s a lot of sharing of good information over there. And Pitt is right there.

There are other players I would much rather have.

Jaylen Blakes is one of them with his big 6'8 wingspan and dog mentality on defense that can shoot the 3 with a good basketball iq and thirst for improvement. He has big upside.

NJ / NY Lightning
I like Blakes, too. Very manageable list of suitors, especially if Illinois gets Burnett.

@thirteenNINE what do we think of this kid?

lot of turnovers?

Offensively there isn't much to like, he's another mid major volume scorer with an inconsistent shot who relies on getting to the line and, as I've talked about at length before, getting to the line is not a skill that translates when you move up a level unless you're an elite athlete like Carlik Jones (and even he had a drop off). Plus, I have real concerns about his height given that he was listed as 6'0" as a prep (and I don't think that he was), 6'1" at FIU, and then suddenly is 6'3"? If he's 6'3" then I'm 6'6".

Now there are a few positives to Daye too, for one I like that he could work as a primary ball handler and let Odukale move into a secondary creator/scorer role which is something that I've been calling for. He also does have one elite skill in that he's exceptional at creating turnovers which leads to him being an above average on ball defender, a that we know that Capel is looking to add in this class. So he's not a total waste, I just don't think that he moves the needle a lot either.

We want Burnett to go there. Its not just Blakes. There is another talent in 2022 from Maryland that is massively underrated that Illinois is targeting right with us, currently a 0 star. And Oliver Antigua is involved. The more guards Illinois gets, the better.

Blakes is a big time sleeper. You cant teach toughness. You either have it or you dont.

Looks a lot like Jaron Brown. Can we find another Chevy to go with him?

Why should Pitt be able to recruit top 20 classes? There is no fertile local recruiting base to tap into in the Pittsburgh metro. Save a few fleeting periods of time, Pitt is not a traditional college basketball power. You love to bitch about things

Pitt is a great school , urban market , support from administration and past history shows they can win at Pitt , all others are excuses people make for a bad hire! The right coach, a successful one, even from a non power 5 would be a GREAT start , hungry, strong recruiting background preferred can most definitely win here , and a good bench full of young hungry coaches wouldn't hurt either , not what we have now at all, top to bottom

Was this player Reggie Bass? Just committed to Illinois, but is listed as being from Tennessee and plays for some school in Indiana.
