DeCourcy has Pitt as a 9 in latest update at 8:54.

Right. If you are going to penalize us in the Net for some early season blowouts, admit that we had a 3 in the air to beat a top 3 seed in their crib.

And wasn’t a fluke. Played them even 80 minutes.

Even? Maybe you didn't see it, but they outrebounded us 39-17. And they scored 78 points on us, which shows a lack of defense. Yes, we had a chance of beating them if the Hinson 3 goes in. But to get to that point, we upped the defense in the last 2 minutes to cut into their lead. If we had played defense and rebounded the whole game like that, we would have beaten them with no need for last second heroics.

We scored 76
So yes even

Jerry Palm has them moved up as well to the 9 line facing Illinois then Kansas in the 2nd round. I prefer staying on the 10 line to avoid teams like Kansas and Alabama in the 2nd round. But if that’s also the hand Pitt is dealt then so be it. I think this team can play with anybody and they deserve to be in the tournament. Their NET remained at 55 as well after the 2 point loss last night so not much of a drop off this past week even though they had the two losses. I’ll continue to say I think they are solidly in the tournament unless they get blown out by FSU or GT on Wednesday which won’t happen. Pitt will win on Wednesday which will set up a real fun game on Thursday afternoon against Duke.

Just as I proclaimed after not moving up much after certain wins, there's something wrong with a system that doesn't penalize us a little more for losing to a pathetic Notre Dame squad.

That said, I'm not worried at ALL about our seed line. Just get in. I could care less about the second round opponent, because I guarantee the first round opponent - whether they're a 6, 7, or 8 - will be plenty for Pitt to try and handle.

I think they win at least one game in the NCCA Tournament and at least get to that Saturday/Sunday portion where they will face a top 1 or 2 seed which will be a lot of fun to watch.

Yes. 80 minutes of ball. We outscored them by a point. How is that not even?

39-17 is not even. I'm looking at performance, not just score. The score tells only a part of the story. What do you mean "80 minutes of ball"? A game is only 40 minutes total. And we only decided to start playing good defense for the last 2 minutes. If Pitt gets back to playing good defense and rebounding, then we can talk about how they played "even".

Probably because “projections” to some extent bake in what these guys think will happen.

We probably would have been on a lot of 6 lines if people thought we would win out. But the two road games had to be a mitigating factor.

Agreed about the second round opponent. I would be thrilled as hell to watch a round of 32 game.

Why does our NET never freaking get better when we have these close losses to top teams like every other team's does? It's ridiculous.

The way Pitt is playing lately and with the all of a sudden struggles with Fede and Elliott I'd be shocked at this point if we won 1 game in the NCAA Tournament.

It is as if you don't remember that we've played Miami twice.
