Next 5 ACC Tournaments in North Carolina?

If your whole point is "so what" then what are you even commenting for?

Greensboro is a remnant of the old, parochial ACC. It was perfectly fine in 1984. It's nothing more than a backwater hick town in 2024. There are probably a dozen better places to put the tournament today, a couple of which happen to be obviously better choices in North Carolina.
As a point of comparison there probably aren’t a lot of people pining to move the Big East tournament back to their previous locations in Providence or Hartford.

Irrelevant.

Should we move the college World Series because Omaha NE is little more than a backwater hick town? There are probably several other better places to host that event.

The ACC should cater to the old guard occasionally. Duke & UNC continually carry the load for ACC basketball.

Of course they should. They should absolutely be playing the tournament in North Carolina on a regular basis.

In Charlotte, not in Hicksville.

And yeah, the location is clearly irrelevant. That's why when the Big East added all those midwestern teams they moved their tournament from MSG to the Wheeling Civic Center. Because the venue is irrelevant, and Wheeling is a lot closer to places like Marquette, Butler and Xavier.

Compared to NYC, you don't think Charlotte is a hicktown?

Greensboro is literally an 80 minute drive from Charlotte.

Just a personal hang up... I'm not big on playing conferences tournaments in NBA Arenas, with MSG being the exception. They are stark reminders that we're watching a shitty inferior product in a facility that is far superior than the standard college shit-box we are all accustomed to.

I'd still like to see them do MSG the week before though slightly different than what the Big Ten did.

Friday: 1st Round
Saturday: 2nd Round
Sunday: Quarterfinals
Monday: Semifinals
Tuesday: Championship
Wednesday: Big East starts

Tuesday final gives you less of a layoff before the NCAAT starts and also no other competition on TV on Sunday night, Monday night, and Tuesday night.

Regardless of where they play, I think they need to include all 18 teams. Using the normal calendar, I'd have 15 play 18 and 16 play 17 on a Monday and then on Tuesday, have 1 play 16/17, 2 play 15/18, 3 play 14 and 4 play 13. Then those top seeds get the day off Wednesday while 5 plays 12, 6 plays 11, 7 plays 10, and 8 plays 9.

Yea, let’s reenforce the current national view of the acc…….a parochial, Carolina centric conference of backwoods rubes and some yankee misfits who caravan annually to Charlotte to pay homage to NC and Duke and to dine at Popeyes. That will do wonders for the conference when it comes to the polls, tournament and bowl selections and playoff rankings.
Charlotte is not in the backyard of Duke Unc and nc st like Greensboro is. Wake is pretty close but Charlotte is the perfect location. Centrally located in the primary ACC footprint not a “home” city for any team, it is a major city with an nba venue, home of the ACC headquarters now home of the ACC championship and I live there which makes me a little biased. In reality I’d rather have it in the same place every year so it becomes special. You the the big east tourny would have been as good if it rotated cities instead of staying at msg?
