The past two years, the defensive line has taken on the linebackers in a ruthless kickball match in my neighborhood park. I took in the match tonight and there are some important takeaways during this relatively quiet time before the mad rush of camp info.

1. Weaver. He’s an incredibly athletic big body. He stands out. Legitimately outkicks all defensive linemen and linebackers. He also catches well, which most in this game do not.

2. Twyman. Bowling ball with athleticism. The hype on his body transformation is real. He’s short by comparison to his peers—not by much—but he is jacked and moved as well as any of the interior linemen and better than even some of the ends. He could work on his kicks, but he runs the bases well—outran a throw to first and sorta broke the rules and stole second—catches well in the outfield and is generally huge physically except for height.

3. Reynolds. He’s put together and looks the part for a middle linebacker. Really built in some ways like some of the guys playing defensive end, but had better range in the field. He gladly took shortstop and covered fine.

4. George. I’m pretty sure Brandon George player the hot corner and played it well. He’s young, but big frame, moves well and showed athleticism. I’m a fan.

5. Camp. Dude is competitive. Game was tight and he took the ball to pitch the late innings. Leader. Looks good, too, physically.

6. Linebackers. There is a huge diversity in linebacker builds. Some guys are big frame and jacked and some you could see missing a meal and being a safety.

Great event. Good time for the families. Looked like the defensive line took the game—but there was some controversy.
