Just a thought here, but I was just speaking to someone about this today. I have no idea if Iowa State participated in any negative recruiting practices. Every staff operates differently. As an example, Pitt refuses to use negative recruiting.
It certainly wouldn't be impossible for this assistant that was at Iowa State and just moved to St. John's to try his best to gain Diallo's commitment. Assuming he did, wouldn't that be funny if he now is completely changing his tune? For months, using attendance, weak league, lack of exposure, etc. against St. John's. And now as an assistant; uh, forget all of that.
Like I said, maybe he didn't use anything negative against St. John's or the other schools, but he could be in a very difficult position right now.
