Now, now....., Miami has a chance to blow it further. They aren't. Discussions were over well before this year.
4 of the 5 were underdogs and expected to lose.
It's the MAC Costal - most people just haven't figured it out yet.Just call it the Heather Lyke Conference or the Victory Heights Conference
Can say the acc got two teams in, big xii and mwc didn’t.the top 4 conference winners get a bye in first rd of playoffs, we didnt get one.
Miami best player pulled himself at half.Miami just lost and NC St trailing at the 1/2
Everything is relevant though.Anyone still comparing conference strength using bowl games into today’s world are morons. Have the kids playing didn’t even touch the field during the year. And that is for every conference.
Everything is relevant though.
They went 2-10 this year. What does that say about them? They should sit in the corner with a dunce cap on and be quiet.florida state was right.
Yep, that's how it works. Winners tell jokes, losers say deal!If the ACC had won every bowl game we would be touting the ACC as the best conference in the country.
If the ACC had won every bowl game we would be touting the ACC as the best conference in the country.
All I will say is if the ACC was 9-1 right now in bowls, we all would be pounding our chests about it.Is it?
Edit: for people that want a narrative and for pr purposes, this kills the acc. From a reality standpoint from on the field, for bowl games, it shouldn’t matter because it’s not the legit teams out there anymore.
Unfortunately people like the narrative route.
Yep, let's drop down to FCS and become a rival with the IVY League.Academics first.
Absolutely NO DOUBT!!All I will say is if the ACC was 9-1 right now in bowls, we all would be pounding our chests about it.

But there not totally meaningless. So next year, what will ACC teams in preseason rankings look like? FSU sure won't be trusted, Miami is losing Cam Ward, Clemson will be in as will SMU and that's probably it.And the results would still be meaningless.

Preseason rankings are more meaningless than bowls. If the ACC had done better in the bowl games, let's say 5-5, would anyone trust FSU more next year? Would Miami then not be losing Cam Ward? I mean we have to wait to see how the transfers are going to shake out, but as of right now, if the ACC went 5-5 in bowl games would we deserve to be ranked in the preseason next year? Or NC State? Or Virginia? Or, well you (hopefully) get the idea.
I'd argue they are far more impactful though. If Alabama starts the season at 14 or 15 and loses three games, they are likely not even in the conversation for for a CFP spot down the stretch. Especially considering a couple of those losses. PSU's schedule was a turd - they lost to the only two good teams they played, but wormed their way up far enough in the rankings that it didn't matter. The top 5 or so ranked teams basically have a "get out of jail free" card that almost no one else has.Preseason rankings are more meaningless than bowls.
